I bought a Savage Cub, single shot youth rifle for my son for Christmas.  I've looked on-line but cannot find a listing anywhere for what scope bases it will take.  It is drilled and tapped.  I'm thinking that it will take the same bases as the regular adult size Savage 22 bolt actions but am not sure.  I guess I can call Savage after the holiday but was wondering if anyone here has already scoped thiers.

I was thinking Weaver or Weaver style bases but can't find any listed specifically for the Cub.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Call me crazy, but have you visited Savage's web site & looked up the rifle?

Yes, nothing there about what bases it takes.

Pics of the top of the rifle, please? Maybe we can then help you with the options.

I am taking a guess here as I have not checked it out yet................ I think it might be the same mount as a MK2.

I have both and can check it out when the wife wakes up and I can get to both rifles.

Sorry for the delay, I ended up taking a nap and then went out coyote hunting......

I was wrong.....

I checked the cub and my daughters only has tip off mounts. Not drilled for scope mounts, sorry.

Can't get to a camera right now.

The Cub I have is drilled and tapped, no grooves for tip off mount.  It is a brand new one with the Accutrigger.

Best I can figure is that the MKII's take a pair of Weaver #24 bases. This Cub looks like it will take the same mount.   I'll call Savage after the New Year's holiday to see what they can tell me.

Thanks.

You could hit the mount mfgr's web sites & do a search for the rifle, see what fits?
