I have a Savage Mk2 bull barrel.  It's very accurate.  Right now it wears a Bushnell Sportsman 3-9 with adjustable objective.  I'd like to slap something on there with much higher magnificatin, I'm thinking in the 18x to 24x range.  What is a decent scope that will hold zero and not break, as well as not break my bank?

It doesn't have to tolerate a centerfire round, just a lowly 22lr.

I have & just LOVE the Osprey 10x40x50 mil-dot scope on my Remington 597 HB rifle. I got it from Optics Planet for around $165~ & got free shipping to boot.

They're assembled in China but use Japanese glass. Mucho quality for the price, IMO.

Check out a company called "Mueller Optics". They have made a big name for themselves lately and have a long list of people who like their products. They have a few scopes in the range you are looking for.
