What brand/model of .22LR are you guys getting the best accuracy out of? I am looking to use in rifles and pistols.
Thank you ahead of time. CSP |

I like CCI Velocitor 1435fps, Winchester Wildcat, Federal GameShok #724, but every firearm is different. Using rifle or Pistol? Semi-auto? Plinking/paper target? If I recall correctly, I used Federal Gold match I believe it was called which was nice, but haven't seen it around for some time. But CCI has always been great I also love their Stinger 1640fps, quick shock 1640fps. Remington Yellow Jacket hp 1500fps and Viper 1410 fps, but those haven't fed well for me in my 10/22 and Remiington 597 VTR... so I stopped buying them.
For most of my 22LR's, I try to stick with CCI, Winchester and Federal. Federal American Eagle works great too. |

.22 caliber firearms are notoriously "picky" about ammo.
What woks just great in one gun, may be poor in another just like it. For this reason, recommendations on brands and types of ammo are of limited use. What many people do who are looking for the best accuracy is to buy a box of everything they can find and test fire it until they find one that is the best, then buy as large a quantity as you can afford. This gets complicated in semi-auto firearms because some ammo may not be reliable in some guns. In that case, you have to strike a compromise between the most accurate ammo that works reliably in that specific firearm. |
