I have a simple question for you guys. I have a 22 WMR that I will be sighting in for 100 Yards.

If I was to take the rifle to 200 yards, and not adjust the scope for elevation, How much drop would there be?

Thanks

What rifle?

What velocity?

What load from what manufacturer?

Magnum Research MagnumLite, 19" Barrel

Velocity ~1900 to 2000 fps muzzle

Manufacturer is up in the air untill I do some formal load testing.

I read somewhere that it is roughly 4.5" drop between 100 and 200 yards.

I figured 4.5 was WAY too little.
130gr .308 Speer HPs  @2400fps sighted 1.5" high @100yd are nearly 5" low @ 200yd.
9 minutes sounds MUCH better for 2 40gr .22 @ 2000fps.

Thanks allot for all that. I knew 4.5" didn't sound right. I might have been looking at the 150 Yard mark with the 33 grain Balistic tip rounds.

Most likely.  .22 WMRF rifles are good to 130 yards or so, before you have to accomodate for drop.

They are nice rifles and a set up from the .22 LR.

I understand 200 yards would be beyond it's "effective" range, and I will not be using said rifle to hunt at that range. If I do hunt with this rifle, it will be within 100 yards. The reason I asked was because I would like to someday shoot out to 200 yards and see what it's really cappable of.
