Quoted: Is that the Hogue overmolded stock? Yes, read the spec sheet. Quoted: And at $555 MSRP they have lost their minds. Same gun can be built for $100 less and probably perform better. Dolomite And this gun will probably sell for $150 less... (This isn't marketed at those that build their own.) |

Quoted:
With that MSRP, I would say cost will be around $350 or so. Therefore, dealers will probably be selling them in the $400 ballpark which will make them go. A lot of people want "target" 10/22s but don't want to build their own for whatever reason. Because many are afraid/lazy to even take their rifle apart. Some fear that they will FUBAR it by taking it apart for some reason. A lot of people also don't know of or aren't into performance modifications. Personally, I would rather take a stock rifle and slowly make it into a tack driver myself. I start to really appreciate the rifle and "become one with the rifle". |

Two things from the spec sheet that should already be on every 10/22
Barrel that is locked into the receiver by a unique two-screw V-block system. correctly proportioned tapered forends with no barrel bands. If this sold for $400 I think it would be a great deal for most people. Talking about less then 200 over most the new 10/22's and for that 200 you get a bipod, hogue stock, bull barrel and better trigger. That is a hell of a deal if you ask me. |

Reading the feature list is funny! I'm surprised they did not tout the "lightweight polymer trigger housing", "aerospace aluminum receiver" and "corrosion resistant finish" It's nice that Ruger is paying attention to what many customers want, though. Hopefully it is priced right and shoots well. ETA I agree the MSRP is too high.

For cripes sake! Why don't they just call me (or any one of you guys who build 10/22s) and ask to have one built for them?
I'd build the rifle, tweak it, sight it in till it shoots half-inch groups or better and deliver it to their doorstep. I'd even give them a box of ammo to go with it. All told, I bet I could build a 10/22 that's at LEAST as good as that for less money. *** Yes, it's a rhetorical question. I'm not in the business of building guns for sale. Just a point of argument. To phrase it another way: Why don't they just find a friend or acquaintance to help them build a gun? |

Like others have said, you can buy a new 10/22 from walmart...and the the rest from dealers here and still get it less than that!
I've yet to buy one of the newer rugers but all the others that I do have ( Single-six, 10/22, super blackhawk and M77)I wouldn't trade for a new verisons C'mon Ruger step it up |
