Okay this isn't technically a .22 but it's a rimfire so I thought I'd find the best advice here.
I bought a Savage 93R17 BTVS 17HMR and a Nikon Prostaff rimfire scope. The Savage has little weaver bases installed on the bbl. The scope came with rings that are made to fit on rimfire rifles that have little ridges installed on the top of the receiver. So the rings that came with the scope don't fit the rifle. I went to Bass Pro and got a set of weaver rings––they fit the bases, but they are too large for the scope tube! What's a boy to do? |

it's difficult to understand exactly what the problem is... pics would help
If you are describing the scope rings being to small for the width of the rail, or for them being too wide for the rail, there are adapters that go either way or if you are describing the scope rings needing a cross slot in the rail for either the scope ring cross bolt, or sometimes they have a small "knob" on the ring base (bottom) that has to key into a slot in the rail (if so, you can remove the knob with a file) if it's the cross bolt that needs to sit in a slot in the rail, you can carefully make a slot in the rail with a file. if the barrel has grooves cut in it for the 'rail' , then don't cut your barrel with a file, look for an adapter. UTG makes a nice little dovetail (narrow width 22 rail) to picatinny/weaver (larger rail width) adapter. The basic differences between picatinny and weaver rails are the cross slots, but the industry has blurred the lines considerably between the two definations. anyway, if the above is all long winded blah, blah, just post up pics and we can get you straightened out. |

Sounds like you bought 30mm rings when you needed 1". |
