| What kind of groups are you guys getting out of your Rem 597s at 50 or 100 yds? I'm going to the range to see how i can do this weekend. Plz lets see pics if you've got any |

No pics to date, but I can say that sub-inch groups are not a problem if your ammo is favored and you do your part.
So far, I've found reliable function and very good accuracy with Winchester Super X jhp, Wolf Match lrn, Remington Viper, and Eley Match Extra. The Super X is a great hunting round so i was very pleased to see it shoot tight enough for rabbits and squirrels even if I never actually go after any. The Wolf and Eley have been the most accurate with .50" groups being the norm when I do my part. The most frustrating thing has been finding ammo that's cost-effective (the Eley just cost me $50 for 250 rounds, but I couldn't find it anywhere else) and reasonably accurate. Every rifle varies. Now that I know the good rounds will group tight if I do my part (no more damned fliers), I can start to work on technique. |
| I've never shot mine for groups, but with a cheap Simmons red dot on it I sit and shoot empty 12 ga. shells at 30 yds. with my friends all the time. Off hand I can keep them around 2" at 50 yards. All I've ever shot in it is the Federal bulk pack stuff from Wal Mart. |
