I finished my bolt handle today.

I cut the OEM bolt handle off and ground the main part flat. Then I drilled and tapped for the handle.

I used the same type of screw that I used on my Extended Mag Release, except slipped it into a brass bushing that I had to cut to fit.

I put it all together with a little LocTite and DuraCoated it.

I cost me a total of $5 and a half hour to make.

Hex bolt with a sleeve?

Looks pretty good. any flex in the bolt when charging?

what about a full pic of that 10/22

The bolt is pretty solid. The bushing slips in pretty tight also. It's really solid, I don't have any doubts in it's durability.

The whole rifle with the new handle

I took it to the range yesterday. It functioned perfectly with the new bolt handle.

I was using basic bulk Remington ammo at 50 yards. I wanna get some better ammo and take it out to 100 next time I go.

that's awesome.  i'm starting a custom 10/22 project, and it's great to have cool but cheap ideas like that.  the bolt handle is one of the stock things i definitely have to modify.

Hey 98,

How about some MORE details on that build?  That looks pretty cool, and i am interested in the stock, handguard and scope rail on the receiver.  do you have any write-ups or build pics?

thanks!
