I just bought a 10-22 and although I haven't fired it I know I'll have to do something about the trigger's heavy pull.  For my ARs I just bought a RRA Match trigger and installed it myself and I'm satisfied with the results.  Can some of you 10-22 owners make some suggestions for improving the trigger?  TIA

This

And this

A snap to install, and brings the pull down noticeably. Plus, the trigger looks damn cool.

Although, on my 10/22, I never seem to have any use for the overtravel screw. It keeps walking out on its own and I don't really see the miniscule amount of overtravel that it can prevent as being a problem.

YMMV

What he said for your basic trigger job.  If your going to keep your rifle stock this will be fine.  If you decide to go balls to the wall you can also get this---Kidd Trigger

or this --- Volquartsen TG2000

+1 - KIDD is the best, IMO.  Volquartsen makes good stuff too.  Best for the money, IMO is the stuff by Rimfire Technologies (SkeeterRed27 at www.rimfirecentral.com).  Rimfire Central is a great resource for rimfires in general and 10/22s in particular.

Hey ODT, I think I showed you an excuse in the WAHTF.

You did, and I've been cussing you ever since. Trying to figure out which project to bump down the list now....

I have three Kidd triggers and wouldn't go with anything else.

Try a Power Custom hammer and sear kit, tou can get a pull of about 2-3 pounds and it is a lot cheaper than the trigger groups.

How about a full-on Power Custom Titanium Grand Master Action kit, compared to other parts upgrade options?

I want with the Power Custom adjustable kit.  I think it was about $50 from Brownells.

Very happy with it.

Thank all of you for the information.  I still haven't shot the 10-22 yet.  Got ready to go to the range and got the 10-22 and 77-22 out of the safe and noticed the 77-22 didn't have a bolt.  I've spent the last 4 days taking the house apart and still haven't found the bolt!  The rifle will have to go back to Ruger for the bolt and headspacing.  I was hoping to install whatever trigger I get but the diagram in the Ruger manual is not very clear and from the directions it sounds more difficult than changing the triggers in my ARs.  I don't intend to modify the 10-22 much beyond the trigger............and even then all I want is a pull around 4-5lbs with a clean break.    THANKS again for your help.

Just change out the hammer with a Volquartsen. Mine went from 8 1/2lbs to 3.

The factory 10/22 trigger is flat out awful. I went with a Power Custom kit from Midway, but I've learned somthing from this post alone with the Kidd stuff.
