I just got my new Tac Sol threaded barrel and Hogue heavy barrel stock. I pulled the receiver from my carbine and removed the barrel, which took some work (pretty tight). I noticed on the instructions for the new barrel that you may have to take an emery cloth to the shank to get it to fit. How big of a pain in the ass is this going to be? I assume I just need to do a little and try to get it started. Should I use a little bit of CLP? The O.D. of the barrel actually rubs on the front of the receiver. Do I need to sand the receiver a little bit also? Thanks |

Check out RimfireCentral.com I read some where it may have been over there. One guy just sanded the anodizing off and then stuck the barrel in a freezer for 20min. After 20min he took the barrel and stuck it in the receiver. When it warms back up you can't a much tighter fit than that. I'm definitely going to try it on my next barrel. |
| The barrel opening in my reciever was a little rough, and had a generous amount of overspray of the epoxy paint applied at the factory, so I used a cone-shaped wire brush attachment in my dremel tool on it, and it both removed the overpray and smoothed out the opening enough for the barrel to install fairly easily. |
