I am planning on buying a 10/22 this weekend. I am wondering which model Ruger I should get if I am just going to customize it ASAP.

I plan to order a Butler Creek Stock and barrel combo off Midway once I get the funds. Eventually put a scope on it for range plinking.

I am thinking of just picking one up from Wallyworld, or looking for a used one at my local shops.

I am most likely going to get the cheapest one I can find as I am just going to butcher it.

What would you guys suggest?

Used can be found for $100-125. Or why not just buy an action?

$180 for the cheapest ones I found at Academy and Walledmart

That would make a lot more sense if I am just going to junk the rest of the rifle. What else would I need if I just bought the action and ordered the stock and barrel combo from Midway?
