Usually shoot the Remington 36gr high velocity gold dot 100 packs. Store is currently out. Are the CCI Mini Mags any good? What other ammo is out the that you recommend?

i have had very good accuracy, bolt guns, 10/22, and actually handguns too, with mini mags,

Mini mags are generally good tho its possible your gun may not like them.  Experiment a little, buy several brands and see what works best.  You may be surprised.  I've had guns that would choke of Winchester Super X but would run Wildcats all day long.  In general it seems 40 gr solids work better in autoloaders than the 36 gr hp.  At least in my guns.

mini-mags are good, usually pretty consistent.  You'll pay more though.
It's not what I like to use for cheap blasting ammo.

Try the CCI Blazers as a bulk alternative.  Should be no more than $10 per 500.
I've had very good luck with them in my GM barrel.

As always, it's going to depend on a million different factors.  You just have to try different kinds and see what works well in your setup.

I prefer Federal ammo for rimfires.
Their copper-plated bullets jam less in my 10/22 and are a lot less messy than the wax-dipped lead bullets.

710 = 40gr solid
712 = 38gr HP

I always keep some mini mags on hand for testing.  From what I have seen they are just about the most consistent at making semi 22s go bang twice in a row.  But for the $ they aren't the best plinking ammo.

cci mini mags seem to be the most reliable in my remington 597.  I haven't tried a whole lot of other brands,  but out of the ones i've tried, the cci's seem to have the highest rate of 'snap' when I pull the trigger.
