I need suggestions on a scope for my new 10/22 carbine. I would like a 3-9 if plausable. I paid $170 for the rifle from Wallyworld... so let's not get too crazy.... we're talkin' .22 LR here...

So I would be better off with a RF scope rather than a normal scope due to paralax then??  Or just get a scope with A/O.

Go back to Wally World and grab a scope there.  They usually carry Tasco, Simmons, Bushnell, Leupold, BSA.  There's something there that should work for your needs.  And while you're there, grab several boxes of the Federal 550 round bulk box of .22 LR for $7.95.

I have been running a fixed 4x Leupold Vari-x II on mine for some time now.   Lets just say lots of the local inhabitants have died of high velocity lead poisoning.

Bushnell .22 rimfire 3-9x32 for $40 or Simmons Prohunter 3-9x40 for $50 (older model) and check out the .22 page in the ARMORY link.

Here's a bone: if you're going to be shooting from a minimun distance to the maximum distance possible, then you should consider a scope with an AO.

You'll get better at focusing faster. It just takes a practice.

I've got a 3-9 Simmons on my 10/22 and it works just fine. I got used from my local (when I lived in Washington) gun store for ten bucks.....not a thing wrong with it either.

That's not a bad lookin scope. Anyone know where the glass is made... for the price I'm assuming China... but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Yes, China.

But I doubt you will find a better scope for twice the money, anywhere.

Read some of the reviews about it on the Rimfire Forum.

Mueller built this scope to RF members specs.

Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x32mm WA Adjustable Obj 1022T Rifle Scope features one-inch tubes, a fully-coated lens system, and 1/4" MOA click adjustmentsfor windage and elevation. Simmons 22 Mag scopes are calibrated parallax-freeat 50 yards for rimfire shooting. Target shooters will appreciate the model Simmons 1022T, a 3-9x32 adjustable objective scope for serious competition. It features fully multi-coated lenses, ad-justable objective, easy adjust turrets and a black matte or silver finish.

I like mine

It looks like the 1022T has been discontinued, but you might look at the 511072

+1 for Mueller's stuff, too.

Pride Fowler's .22 LR 3-9x32  with their "Rapid Reticle" BDC looks cool, too, but I couldn't get a straight answere when I asked them for information I needed to compair their scope to similar ones.

I don't like Federal one bit!!!! Rem Golden Bullet value packs work much better for me

And a Bushnell Banner 6-24x AO really lets you see those little holes, about $115.

Weaver 3-9 Rimfire is probably the best choice.

"Bushnell .22 rimfire 3-9x32 for $40"

I just picked up one Sunday and took it to the Range and I have to say I'm impressed.  Clear and able to focus for 3x to 9x.  At the range another guy had a 10/22 and he had the same scope.

haha! Too crazy...
Buy the best scope you can afford.  If you get a GOOD one, you can always swap it onto a different rifle later in life in need be.
You get what you pay for with optics, thats for sure.
