Aguli Super Cobrilis.

They are only powered by primer, and will not cycle a semi-auto.  They are airgun quiet out of a bolt action.

I don't know if they will reliably kill a groundhog.  I've shot chipmunks with no problems, but when I shot a squirril in the chest it ran up a tree and hid before kicking over dead.

Groundhogs are bigger.  Get a silencer.

I have used CCI .22 CB Long Ammo in my bolt action Mossberg rifle with a 20" barrel for pest control. The ammo is just a little bit louder than the Super Colibri ammo but has more power. I also tried the CCI CB Short's but for some reason they seemed to be louder -- might have been gas leak around the chamber. I've never tried the CB Long on racoon but I would suspect that a head shot at no more than 25 yards would put one down. This is CCI's info on the cartridge -

+1 on the CCI CB's I have used them on porcupines and they did the trick.  They are the quietest round for the power that I know of.

My favorite pest load is the CCI .22Short TARGET load.  It has a hard bullet, is accurate in my pump rifles (and frankly is more accurate than the CB Longs in my .22LR chambered rifles).  The load is subsonic and will penetrate better than the CB Long does= faster death for the pest.  They chrono out about 800-850fps.

The .22 long and long rifle use the same cartridge -- it's the bullet that is different as far as length goes so the 22 longs will match your 22lr chamber. The only difference is how deep the shorter, lighter bullet seats into the rifling. I've used the CCI 22 CB longs in semi-auto's although they had to be cycled by hand. With a barrel of 20" or more the CB long sounds like an air rifle.

for quietness i  usually go with CCI 40gr subsonic hollow points, and i highly doubt they will drop a woodchuck. they work great for squirls though, if you hit them right they will suck the brain clean out of its head.

for woodchucks, i use CCI small game bullets.

theyre a little bit louder than a regular .22lr, but they have more stopping power.

well we got one of the five or so "threats" to the dogs a possum just went dont by the hands of a win 94 .22 via aguilla sss.

aar:
 shot distance about 8 feet
shot placement entrance above the right shoulder
 death instant.

observations. aguila sss is louder than i thought. probably would have helped if i had used my semi auto but that will be another day.

Using SSS with simi-auto RIFLE is a bad idea.  The bolt opens before the bullet has cleared the muzzle, and all manner of crap comes out the ejection port.  forget "shooting glasses",  if you aren't waring swim goggles, you'll get burning powder in your eye.  And if you are a dumb ass like me, you will find the second shot to suck just as bad as the first one.  DOOH!
