Does anybody have any experience with this company for replacement barrels of Ruger MKII's or Browning Buckmarks? They look cool. Some have threaded extensions for suppressors. Are they much of an improvement over factory? (which happens to be good on both) Thanks for the info. Blake |
| I have three of the Tactical Solutions Barrel's- Buckmark Pistol 4.5" threaded, Ruger 10/22 Fluted & threaded, and Buckmark rifle fluted and threaded. I shoot three different suppressors on these guns and it has been my experience that there is a marked improvement in accuracy when switching to the Tactical Solutions Barrel(s). |

+1 I'm seriously considering cloning that puppy! I need another rimfire like I need a another hole in my head but that rig is sweet! ![]() BTW - What scope and mount do you have on there? |
The mount is a Leupold one piece mount. I like the way it extends over the bbl to keep me from having to mount the scope all the way forward in the rings. I can get the scope a lot lower with this mount set-up than I can with a rail type mount and rings. Plus, the rings and mount are steel... I hate messing with screws that are threaded into aluminum. |
Yeah but you're screwing the mount down to an aluminum reciever! Is the mount specifically designed for a 10/22 or is it a generic model? Which scope did you use? Thanks
|
I know, but at least the screws holding the rings together aren't threaded into aluminum. I cut down on a few, at least. It is designed for the 10/22. The scope is a Leupold Rifleman 2-7x33 that is typically sold for around $185. It is covered by Leupold's Lifetime Warranty. |

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to get a Buckmark and have a TS barrel put on it. Cypher, that rifle is awesome. I've thought about getting a Volquartsen or doing a build like you have. If you don't mind me asking...how much $ do you have in that rifle? Very nice. Thanks again. Blake |
That's what I love about this place, somebody is always upping the ante! Man that is a fucking sweet rig!
|
Damnit! OK, that is way sweet. Did you change the trigger group? What kind of suppressor is that? I'm assuming it shoots extremely well. Total investment? (approximation) Very, very nice. Blake |
This guy got my bbl from Alaska to MS in 3 days. www.mizzoumuleguns.com |
I'm going with a Cmore Railway once I get my 22/45 and Pac-Lite. |
Picatinny has larger slots for the lugs, but are otherwise identical in size and shape. So, all weaver stuff will go on picatinny rails, but not all picatinny stuff will fit on weaver rails. (I've had eotechs on assorted weaver mounts as an example) |
I was looking at a few sights ay Midwayusa, and their detailed instructions say: "Notes: Will not fit properly on picatinny rails. Use on a picatinny rail will cause the sight to be mounted at a slight angle, which will be detrimental to accuracy Not compatible with heavy recoiling firearms" That's what had me wondering. |
Thanks very much. Trigger group - all I did was put in a VQ hammer and mag release. Not perfect but more than satisfactory for me. Best bang for your buck IMO. Suppressor - SWR Warlock It does In the gun itself? I'm guessing off the top of my head. You could probably build one between $7-800. The suppressor adds a bit to that. Thanks again. Happy hunting. |
Im currently in the process of building a rifle nearly identical to that one...because i liked yours so much. |
Sweet weapon! Who made the stock? |
It's a Hogue overmolded stock in OD green. |
They are made by Tactical Solutions. |
I swear I've looked that sight over a hundred times and only now that you've told me they're there, have I seen them!!! |
|
Yup, I just re-built that buck mark with all tactical solutions stuff, barrel, scope rail & grips. I also dropped in a new hammer, sear, disconnector and a few other parts because the old ones were a little shot out. The feel of these grips is great. The lighter barrel is nice too. Tactical solutions products are top shelf. I only had one problem with them this time. I ordered the scope rail with the built-in rear sight and they sent me the one without the rear sight. When the wrong one came, I called them back and asked why they sent the wrong one. They said the one with the sight wasn't available yet. They could have told me that when I phoned in my order you'd think... Still, other than that, I've got nothing but good things to say about their products. |
They have great customer service. I had the same problem that you had. They sent me the short scope rail when they were supposed to send me the long one. They also left the compensator out of my package. They got in too big of a hurry to ship it out and forgot the stuff. I called them up and he apologized and sent me the scope rail and the compensator and actually REMOVED the charge from my original order so I got both items for free. |
|
I just ordered the Trial light threaded barrel in black. The young lady I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and friendly. She even said they would get it out in the mail that day, keep in mind it was 4pm their time!!! No complaints so far, lets see how it looks when it gets here. |
