Hi, I have a 10/22 deluxe with the walnut stock. I have a heavy barrel for it and have heard that due to the aluminum receiver, you should bed the barrel not the receiver. Does anyone have a thought on this? Actually I did bed the receiver quite some time ago and the barrel was freefloated this way. I have considered freefloating the action and only supporting the barrel for a few inches. I await your reply with Dremel in hand... |

i have my 10/22 wit a 20" bull barrel in a b&c anschutz stock and only bedded the reciever had one in a barracuda stock and only bedded the reciever on that one too. the rifle has no problems shooting moa- submoa all day long. have had my 10/22 for about two years now with no problems of reciever stretch of any kind if thats what your worried about. imho if it shoots and is consistant, leave it alone |

I have two 10/22 custom jobs on my thumbhole stock I have bedding under the reciever and the first two inches of barrel. It shoots very small groups. On my custom Deluxe Sporter It has a free floating barrel and no bedding at all. It also shoots tiny groups. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v466/jrinfoley/Ruger1022project.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v466/jrinfoley/Custom1022Sporter.jpg |
