Has anyone used a obscura bag yet? I'm really thinking of getting one. Just looking for real world experience before I spend the money. It might mean the end of cargo pants and shorts for me. Thanks for taking a minute to read. Any suggestions are welcome on a ccw pack. |

Those look really big and bulky. I've found with the big bags, you won't want to carry it around eventually. Take a look at the Kelty Tactical Sling Bag. I've got one, and it's a good bit slimmer and rides well. It's also half the price. https://kelty.com/products/sling-bag?variant=44784155295920 Don't count out the ubiquitous fanny pack either. So they're pretty close in size. And i acknowledge that shape is a factor, but so is how you load it. I think at the end of the day it can come down to preference. Or that the Kelty is half the price of the SE. |

| thanks for the replies. I will check out the keltey. I like the features on the savior, holster retention etc. The price not so much. And of course the big issue, you get a bag and you have to stuff it full. Now it's heavy and clumsy. I live in Florida so owb on carry with a over shirt will kill you. I always have my lcp in my pocket, but I want to have my gx4 also. |

The shape is a big part of it. I've had smaller sling bags (in liters) that ended up being more bulky than the Kelty. The Kelty is very streamlined. Plus the Kelty is half the price. |

I use one of those velcro wrap holsters, and it securely holds a Glock 19 or Sig 365 (the original length barrel) securely, as there isn't room for it to slip out. I also carry an extra magazine, though I CAN shove up to 3 extra in there too, but it starts to get heavy then. There's enough room in the other pockets for a phone, flashlight, pens, batteries, cords, etc. I usually carry a multitool, pen and pad, and phone charging cord in there. Have you tried carrying IWB with something like a longer polo shirt or hawaiian shirt? I get away doing that in Florida, not even AIWB, just regular IWB, at the 4ish o clock. And one of those Safariland horizontal mag pouches at 10:30 oclock. You can also carry your extra magazines in the sling bag if you are into lots of extra magazines. Using the sling bag as a quasi-chest rig (I like the Kelty in this sense - it's set up that you can spin it around and run it like a quasi-chest rig) |

They have been making gear for decades, and this is in their tactical line. Good materials, good construction. And it doesn't look tactical, and the Kelty logo is a very non-tactical gear name (for instance, some people see 5.11, they know 'gun guy'. Kelty is almost the opposite) And like I said, the Savior Equipment pouch I have seemed well built, but it's a bit expensive. |

This is the one I have - the main, rear pocket has velcro lining on the back of the inside pocket, it lets you carry a pistol and 1 or 2 extra magazines. You could maybe fit one more or a flashlight in there too. Again though, it starts to get heavy. Heavy looking will give it away as a gun inside. These also come in a few very non-tactical colors. I have the 'grey' one, it's a very neutral color. They also have some two-tone and especially the kinda blue jean and similar colors. These would also double well as an IFAK fanny pack for use with tactical gear or a fanny pack to carry shotgun shells. Just don't get one that looks all tactical. That's the hard part, finding one that works, that doesn't look tactical, that isn't super expensive. |
| I’ll add an endorsement of the Kelty sling bag. I’ve had one for years and it’s worked well. Mine’s blue and grey so it doesn’t look “tactical” and holds a G22 with TLR-1 just fine but without being too bulky. |

But it’s a shield arms lower folder. Just measured the inside of the bag, from inside border to inside border is 31 inches exactly. |

I occasionally use an Obsurra 3L. I hated it initially as the position of the internal holster strap didn't work well with any of my holsters and did not allow a proper grip and draw. The solution was to cut out the strap and use a dedicated velcro backed holster. I'm using an Eclipse Molly B holster for a G19/TLR7 in these pics and the fit is perfect.
