anyone know anything about the new 1145 level IV plates on sale for $294.99 ? not much info on listed ,are they curved and are they all steel ? dosent say what coating level they have but looks llike great deal but never owned armor.

lol my bad not spartain ,its shellback also have get deal on banshee with 2 IV plates for under $500

yes those are the ones ,any idea what material they have on outside pic looks like composite.i assume they are are steel plate.

actualy I can see stitching around the edges like cloth or nylon.some type of spall coating ? as I said earlier I have never owned plates but thinking about getting a set just for for training  and shtf

Spall coating isn't needed with ceramic armor.  Think of it as a sleeve for the ceramic plates. The ceramics are made to deteriorate and catch the bullet.

It doesn't say, but it's either ceramic, or a ceramic hybrid combined with a composite like UHMWPE or combined with metal.

You could make an all steel level IV plate, but it would be very heavy; much heavier than 7.8 lbs/ plate.
