I have a ACH 2001 (High Cut) with Peltor Sporttac Ear Pro attached to rails.
Peltor Sporttac

Is there a better option for ear pro out there?

Not really worried about price, mainly wanting them to be small, light weight, comfortable and of high quality.

thanks!

EDIT: Anyone own the MSA Sordin Pro-X ear protection or know how they compare to Peltor?

I run either Peltor Tac6S or the COMTac 2 model depending on what I am doing. COMTac is definitely not for you, as the added communications gear bulks it up considerably. Have had no issues with either and the Tac6 is quite slim.

I just picked up a pair of Sport Tacs... Now I am looking at a Bump Helmet they will fit under. Can you please post a Pic of yours? I know that the Sport Tacs are a bit large for a helmet but I think it can be done!
I did a search of the ACH2001 on Google but it shows a lot of different helmets...
Who knows I just might have to get a lower profile pair of Peltors... Dam I just spent $100 on these things...

Thanks

Well the Sporttac are good ear pro, especially for the money. I just happen to have some spare cash burning a hole in my pocket and was wondering if there was something even better on the market.

I dont know about bump helmets but the sporttac will fit under a standard ACH 2000, i did it for awhile, you just need to move some pads out of the way for the head band to fit. However its not the most comfortable and i found getting into and out of the helmet took several minutes of messing around with bands, straps, and lots of adjustment.

Recently i purchased a ACH 2001 (high cut) as it was a deal i just couldnt pass up. I dont have a very good photo right now, but you just barely see the Sporttac mounted to the rails on the side.

the MSA Sordin Pro-X have good reviews, but they seem to be a pain in the a$$ to mount to rails, need some after market parts kit or something.

Nope, never bothered. Think peltor makes a version specifically for that though. Never felt i needed to have radio communications.
