I posted this in the other thread concerning HighCom plates. I have been on HighComs website and I am little confused. Can someone explain to me the difference between the single curve full cut, the single curve shooters cut and the multi curve shooter cut? I see they all say they are 10x12 but then on the sight they say that the HighCom 10” x 12” shooters cut and multi curve shooters cut plates are considered nominal and the actual measurement is 9.5” x 11.5. I had a set of the multi curve plates and got rid of them due to them being to small as they were not actually 10x12.
I am use to running SAPI/ESAPI plates that are large and measure 10x13¼ in. Yes I know they standard 10x12 is the large size plate when buying on the commercial market and will not be the same as the .MIL issued large SAPI/ESAPI plate |
| I'm running the highcom plates in my banshee. I have the single curve shooters cut. I'll measure them tomorrow but they are supposed to be 10x12.I never bothered to check as they fit my carrier. I had a flat no name plate that measured 10x12 .The highcom plate does seem smaller but it it may be due to the curve or the cut. Highcom was easy to order from, but you'll need to provide a copy of your birth certificate or an LEO/Mil ID. |

My HighComs bounced around the the plate bag too much so had to pull them out and replace them with a full cut 10" x 12". Ended up giving away the Banshee to one of my officers.

| I bought plates from HighCom and level IIIA side panels from BPM and was very satisfied with both companies. I had a little extra room in my Banshee carrier so I lined the bottom and top with foam pipe insulation to take up space and protect the edges in case it gets dropped. |

While I have no doubts about their quality control, that is something that has always bothered me a little about them. Assuming delta cuts are the same, it's a loss of 20.25 square inches of overall coverage with the Highcom plates, so I guess it's all in how you look at it. |

So i measured my highcom plates. They only measure 9.5x11.5 I'm going to email high come and see what they have to say. While it's not much, i feel a bit mislead as they are advertised at 10x12's. I'm not sure if it's due to mine being the shooters cut or possibly the curve. I bought the shooters cut because i didn't think the full cut would fit in my banshee, but it looks like the highcom full plates have the corners clipped enough to fit my PC.
Can anyone else measure their highcom plates? |

Can anyone else measure their highcom plates? I measured and it is the same as what you measured. On the HighCom website they do say that the nominal measurement is 9.5" x 11.5". The question is why "rate" it as 10" x 12" when the nominal measurement is less than that? I can't find a reason why. |

I sent out an email to highcom and got one back about 3 hours later. I must of missed the part about the nominal measurement. Highcom said this was fairly common in the armor industry to save weight. Highcom did offer a full refund or exchange of the plates i ordered. After looking at my PC(Banshee) i decided that the full cuts from high com will fit. I initially wanted the shooters cut as the pocket is angled on the corners and me thinking that the full plate wouldn't fit. Anyhow, i'll be giving the single curve full cuts a shot. |

Top notch plates, all coated and waterproof. Great company to deal with, all plates are packed in heavy bubble wrap, and lots of packaging. Customer service is great. They have everything from budget plates, to top level 4 plates. I have 2 sets from them and very happy with them. Review: https://drmorgear.wordpress.com/category/reviews/ |
