I have a bunch of motorolla Ht1000 radios, have had them for many years and have collected many spare batteries, chargers, cables ETC.. I am currently using  Nacre Quietpros, and as great as they are like anything they have drawbacks.. I was looking into a set of helmet mounted ear protection/comms.
I have been looking at MSA as a example. it gets confusing for me when looking at cables and connections, what headsets and cable systems can you guys point out to me that will work with my current HT1000 radios?

or is there any option for the Nacre setup that dosent use ear buds? I have looked around and cant really find anything

thanx, T_I

What is your planned use? You use the term Squad comms so are you saying professional Law Enforcement tactical unit or are you looking for SHTF, training what? Whats your Budget? Overall if you need some pro level shit that will all work together with your HT1000s and be GTG I would contact Tactical Command Industries, teaheadsets.com or Atlantic Signal tell them what you got, what you need and an of these can hook you up with some good gear. Will it cost you an arm and a leg, ya but comms are critical for professional use and you want your stuff to not fail when things go to hell this is the route  to go. If $ are limited then do your home work and research things more there are  lot of PTT and headset options for your radio. TCI Liberator headset and one of their PTTs is hard to beat any day. Hell a simple pair of Peltor Comtac headsets and Peltor PTT should be easy to put together. Most headsets come with a down lead that terminates in either a 6 pin LEMO  or a U93 connector. You just need to get a PTT with a matching connector on the one top end and made to match your radios connector on the other end. Using a Motorola it may be that simple, as long as it actually works when you put it all together. It's simple until it's not! if you got the $ to spend on a good set up from TCI or one of the others you can even send them your radio and they will insure all the stuff works together.

Nacre Quitepro are only in ear, never seen any other set up. That's  the point of them.

Thanx for the reply, first off, im no ninja..lol, the radios and headsets spend most of the time being used at a racetrack, keeping a driver, spotter, and the crew on the same page, but I do some shooting from time to time. so I like dual use stuff. again thx for the reply,

I guess I need to do some homework, learning what connectors I have currently have will be a great start.

The HT1000 uses a Motorola M3 connector. Do you want a boom mic off the earpro or would a PTT with mic be ok?
