Are these an item that does on sale regularly, or is it once in a blue moon?

There are two things going on with the Banshee.
One is a clearance sale on the TAG website.
This is for the previous version of the Banshee.
Now, on the SHELLBACK website they are selling the UPDATED version of the Banshee.
This is running for 199 USD.
The previous version on clearance on the TAG website runs for 115 USD.
So, I am guessing once the previous version Banshees are gone they are gone so it is a grab 'em while they are still around type of deal.
Unless you want to wait for a sale for the new version.

$200?

They've postured themselves into a price bracket with fierce competition. Would rather get a Mayflower APC for a bit more.

I'd say jusy buy the previous version.
115 USD for a high quality PC is definitely a rare deal.
I bought two for my local guys here and they love it qay better than the POS crap our organization issues.
The new version Banshee, as far as the description on the SHELLBACK website is concerned, is not too much of an improvement to justfy a 200 USD price tag.
I agree, either the older version yoi cam grab on clearance, or pay a bit more for a Mayflower or something else.

From the Shellback Tactical Website website:

- 500D Cordura (as apposed to 1000D Cordura in the previous version)
- Lightweight Shoulder Pads included (never needed these as, at least for me, there was enough padding on the shoulder straps to begin with)
- New Color Options (Operator Grey and ATACS LE)
- Lighter than before (not sure about this because it says 2 lbs 5 oz for the updated version, which is the same for the previous version)

Everything else is the same from what I can tell, design and feature-wise.

I guess the best way is to give them a call and ask exactly what updates on on the new version.

On the TAG website, looks like they have over 1,000 pieces in stock for the Coyote Tan and Ranger Green versions, and around 100 left for ATACS.

From what I have read, 1000D vs 500D cordura. They functionally look exact.

The Banshee was positioned as a high-quality low-price basic carrier and it's excellent at that. I got mine a few years ago when they went on black friday sale for <$100.

I don't know if materials/manufacturing are really becoming that much more expensive or if they're misreading the popularity of their products, but $200 is a bit excessive for what you get.

I bought mine a while ago when it was only $120 on LAPG.  I love it.
