| It's in the three color desert pattern, the thing glows in the dark. I've had decent results with "Dylon" vs. ACU, would it take to the M-65? I think that the jacket is treated for water repellency. |

It's in the three color desert pattern, the thing glows in the dark. I've had decent results with "Dylon" vs. ACU, would it take to the M-65? I think that the jacket is treated for water repellency. It certainly was, when new, and might have been re-treated at some point. I have no experience with removing water-repellants, but I would begin by washing the jacket a couple of times using WOOLITE brand detergent. Use Woolite because it has NO optical brighteners, which can ruin a jacket's performance when viewed by night vision devices. It's also a good detergent. If, after washing, some sprayed-on water doesn't bead up, you're GTG. Weigh the jacket, and use at least the amount of dye recommended for that weight of cloth. Reading-up at the mfr's web site is a really good idea, because they know their product, and usually have some good tips. After dyeing, rinse well a couple of times. Allow to dry, and spray well with the appropriate water-repellent product from McNett or NikWax. Go to mfr web site to find out what to use. |
