What are you guys using to store all your gear in? We are moving to our new house in a week or so and I'm looking for something better to store all my shooting gear in than the rubbermaid containers I am using now. I'm thinking of getting a used metal storage cabinet like the one pictured bellow and taking out the top 2 or 3 shelves and adding a bar accross the top to hang plate carriers/packs/vest etc from. Thoughts? What are you guys using.  |

Well, most people don't need quite so much storage capacity for their personal equipment/gear.
As for myself I overbought a bit over the years. After selling-off all my collectibles from Span-Am war to early '80s, I would say that the storage item you have pictured would hold all my woodland stuff, comfortably. |

I put an old metal front door on my spare bedroom and added a keypad entry deadbolt on it. Its fast, quiet, and makes a makeshift safe room. On my old house I added a keyed door handle to my closet. It wasn't the most secure but kept roommates out of my gear. Guess I'm lucky in that neither of my current roommates are very much into guns or gear at all, despite the whole military thing
