Use? Intended loadout? What extras will you be carrying?

First off my opinion is biased bc i only have used the D3, that being said if have yet to find an occasion where it hasn't  performed beyond my expectations. On and off duty for me it has been an excellent piece of gear.

I know it's not on your list, but the FirstSpear SICR is 50% off on their site right now.

Do those retention straps add an extra step to mag changes compared to the tacos of the hsgi?

X2 similar to the d3 in size and weight with the added ability of carrying comms if that's needed.

Do they make one without the comm pouches?

Yes. The Mayflower 5.56 Hybrid.  I have the  Gen IV UW and love it.  The radio pouches will hold two mags and has bungee retention.

what is your intended use, application context, and other driving requirements

regarding the LH/RH setup - the entire package is 12 INCHES across.  so what is your range of motion?

If you are a Lefty or Righty for that matter, why arent your secondary magazines placed where they are  carried without wearing a chest rig.

Why not carry your secondaries where you do normally and save the rig for a multitool / light
