| I haven't seen good results with Highlander but Ive tested Mandrake, Nomad and Typhon and they all work pretty amazing in their perspective environments. Obviously Typon is just for looks but for LEO it looks a lot better than MC Black which just looks like mud streaked black. ATACS LEO stuff on the other hand just looks horrible. Money wise I think Kryptek is a good investment. |

I really wish some gear makers would start making pouches and other gear in mandrake or highlander. I really like kryptek. You need to know the right people and ask the right questions and you can get anything you want. Esstac will make you anything. |

indeed, Kryptek pouches and gear such have been available from a variety of makers since Nov 2012.
you just need to look regarding MC Black and Typhon - its more of an outward appearance issue per LE or issuing agency. I believe that in comparing the perceptual efficacy of both patterns in low light, MC Black composition leans more to human low light acuity. PW/SKD, I would like to see loop patches in front of the PIG Kangaroo split flaps to facilitate attachment of load platforms - you would need only to cover the inboard two channels of both flaps All, Multicam matches fairly well to Highlander base platforms |

What does Kyptek look like not up close? It seems like all the fancy patterning will just meld together into something resembling ATACS. In other words, why bother? What does kryptek look like up close? It looks like kryptek. ETA: Ahh, read wrong. At a distance it works fairly well and is different than atacs. |

I think any black camo is about looking cool. I am not sure if it is functional. In the dark you could wear yellow and you would still be dark. Black "camo"/uniforms are for one thing: intimidation and the appearance of authority. They are not meant to blend in with anything (unless they're rolling around a coaling station). I'm not seeing how Kyptek is an improvement over Multicam or other prior patterns. Color me skeptical.

Not really. Some colors reflect light more than others. Quoted:

This. ACU actually glows in the dark, with any amount of moonlight. If you mean pitch black then yeah, but thats never the case. |

Kryptek Highlander in October, ~5500' ASL, Southeast Idaho http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k499/arfcomcvtrpr/IMG_20130921_084232_541_zpsfbf13576.jpg It sticks out IMO and there are plenty of other patterns that don't. |

Again, it's my opinion and can be subjective, but with that particular kryptec I don't think it is. |

Not the best pics but here's some of my stuff in Kryptek Here's a low light shooting picture. My top is MC and the pants are Mandrake. When it was light out and I was prone my wife said at distance she could kind of see the MC but the pants like disappeared. Same in the woods. When I was walking in the woods hanging targets she said the MC actually stood out where the Mandrake disappeared. Wish I had more but I'm not big on posing for pics.
Here's my shotgun in Nomad. It's great in sand/ muddy desert places. All I have for the picture is this sandstone colored rifle bag.
Kryptek definitely isn't for multiple environments but in it's designated environment it's pretty amazing. MC is awesome but Kryptek seems to break up the pattern better and uses better colors for the environment it's designed for. |

I wasn't trying to be a jerk and made sure everyone knew it was just an opinion. Lighten up. Someone else mentioned it's definantly for specific areas and not like multicam per se. That's more the point I was trying to make. |
