I have a Mayflower APC and the shoulder pads blow. They're thin, stiff, and way too wide. They're only good for making the head hole smaller and rubbing the sides of my neck raw.
So I'm looking at getting replacement shoulder pads and have narrowed it down to 2. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with either of these. I'm on my phone, otherwise I would make the links hot to both: The first one is what I'm leaning towards -- Blue Force Gear LMAC Enhanced Shoulder Pads http://www.optactical.com/blfogeenshpa.html The only thing I'm concerned about with these is that they will be too long and extend beyond the shoulder straps, and underlap the front and back of the PC. The second is the FirstSpear Armor Carrier Shoulder Pads http://www.skdtac.com/FirstSpear-Armor-Carrier-Shoulder-Pad-p/fsr.120.htm Nothing much to say about these other than I prefer the design of the Blue Force Gear pads listed above. Anybody use either of these and/or know anything about the APC that I should know about concerning the use of these pads? |

Either should be a good choice for you.
Funny you say this though. I had looked at the APC a few times for me or for the wifey and even got the recommendation from a few people that it's the best PC out there for busty chicks. I was always concerned about how close the shoulder pads were but multiple people said it's okay. huh... |

It's just the pads that Velcro on aren't all that great, IMO. The straps are good to go and not too narrow at all. The pads are super wide in comparison to some PC's like the Eagle CIRAS where the pads follow the same contour and profile as the straps, only they're padded and thicker. They're essentially pancaked layers that are stitched together along the outer edge....right where it contacts your neck. Whereas the Eagle CIRAS pads are rounded and rolled on the sides. |
