I am looking for a nice small pack for day trips and for range duty but don't want the traditional large backpacks that I see so often.  My ideal pack is the Kodiak Gear Slinger by maxpedition but they are to expensive for what I am looking for.  Does anyone know a cheaper version of that pack?  I would be happy with a Condor style knockoff or something comparable that is around the same size and has the pocket for a water bottle.  Also, something not overly tactical looking would be a huge plus.  I appreciate any packs you may suggest!

Thanks

I've had this one for a little over a year.  Mine is black.   I use it for overnight trips and for dragging stuff to the range.  It will hold a ton of stuff and has multiple compartments that actually are useful.

I bought it at Dick's (I know I know....this was before their shenanigans) for about $70.

I actually really like the looks of that. Can you post up a pic of the back padding?

Tactical Tailor has their Removable Operator Pack in Foliage Green right now for $47 (plus s/h). That's half off retail on that bag.

Foliage Green is really grey-ish in color. I don't think your average person would consider it to be a 'tactical' looking backpack in that color..

I have the 500D Cordura version in multicam and I love it.

Here is a pic of that Tactical Tailor ROP in Foliage Green so you can see what it looks like in this color. To me, the lighting is off in this photo. I think they look more grey in person.

A Mil-Spec Monkey Patch Panel (in FG) will cover right over the area of PALS webbing on the back if you wanted to do that..

NOTE: This is not my pack. I cropped this photo down in size, and re-uploaded it back to the web.

PS - I can remove this pic should anyone object. Just sayin'..

Get this:http://www.supplycaptain.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=621&ParentCat=66, and dye it black with Rit dye.  Add-on with black pouches as desired.  Bottom has PALS webbing, and will accept a USGI waist-pack.

Exceptional  quality.  I bought one, and it's a GREAT little pack all by itself. the price is stupid low for what you get.

disclaimer: no financial interest.

Don't know.  Vendor knows, but isn't saying.  Definitely GTG as far as I'm concerned, and I bought one..  YMMV.

I was wanting some internal pictures.  All that I seen on GGG is the outside.  I want a bag that can be a trunk bag as well as a one day trail bag.  I hate using big packs when all I need is a minimal setup and I want American made so Maxpedition is out.

^^^^

Someone posted pics of the newly revised interior of the GGG Stealth Operator Pack, but I can't find them.

You can however see the new interior in this video by some French Gun Blog..

[Inside the main compartment (mounted on one side) you have two M4 sized mag pouches with velcro closure flaps, and a large zippered mesh pocket that goes the width of the bag just below them..]

hang tight

Internal left and right pocket easily holds 2 pmags each. I'd imagine it'd hold a nalgene or camelbak bottle too. Zero other internal organization. Some like it, some hate it

Here is a shot of the interior of the Grey Ghost Gear Stealth Operator Pack. This is the latest version, which has a much nicer mesh pocket layout than the earlier models..

In case anyone was still wondering..
