Considered by some to be one of the best plates for the money. They stopped making them a few years ago.

I love mine. I don't think you can beat them for the price. If you can find them that is.

They are good, lightweight, standalone plates. They are all old.

There were a shit ton of them from 2003-2004 era that hit the market real cheap starting about 3 years ago (maybe longer). Those deals are all dried up now. There was a time when they could be had for as little as $85/per. People seem to be getting about $150/per these days.

I paid 120 per plate about a year and a half ago. I don't know when they stopped making them but mine have an 03/05 manufacture date. I recently x-rayed them and they are still 100%. No fractures.

They were great for the bargain prices that could be had for, after they had expired. The glue holding the ceramics to the PE backing is now brittle and the ceramics will often come completely off after the first shot. Any Gamma+ plates that are available at this time will have changed hands a few times. I honestly would not recommend buying a set at this time.

Here is the full history surrounding the plate: http://gearsnake.com/Review.aspx?id=59

The speculation in the article that BAO was making the replacement turned out to be wrong. The plate was instead re-engineered as the Sigma+.
