I am right on the edge of pulling the trigger on this bag. Just wanted some opinions and thoughts on the bag from users.
Big points of concern:
-ruggedness and overall quality
-comfort of the bag with a bolt gun in the rifle compartment (remington 700 aac sd in my case)

I have a G2 and you won't be disappointed in quality.  I have used it to carry guns hunting, the range and for 3 gun.  You can load it to the point that you don't want to carry it and it holds up fine.  I started off with 5 boxes of shotgun shells, 200+ rounds for my AR and 200+ rounds of pistol ammo; plus magazines, cleaning stuff, water, snacks, etc.  worked great.

Thanks smaddox you seem to pop up with a good answer everytime I ask about anything pertaining to my long range rifle, even peripheral gear now. Thanks a bunch

What exactly are you wanting to do with the G4? Applications, gear to be hauled, etc.? I assume the integrated scabbard feature is one of the draws to the Operator? If so, what kind of optics setup are you going to run with the rifle (or rifles) do you intend to haul? Tripod attached, too?

Eberlestock packs can be pretty technical in nature, and which is "best" for you is going to depend on what you're going to be doing with it. Across their entire lineup, you're going to be satisfied with the construction quality, intuitive design, and features.

Bottom line, it is impossible to say whether the G4 Operator is right for you with knowing this info. Not saying it won't end up being the best choice, but they have several other packs in their lineup that also offer a lot of features that may be better suited to your needs than the G4.

I have a remington 700 aac-sd whith a vortex razor hd 5-20x50 optic on it as well as a Harris bipod, I plan to switch it out to KRG whiskey 3 chasis in the future but they have a 3-4 month wait @ the moment.  I want to carry clothes, ammo, and camp gear. As well as ammo.
Basically going to be my bug out bag. The pictures on the  web site  show it with an AR-10  in it so I think it will accommodate the bolt gun, even when I upgrade to a chassis with detachable mags. I got excited and ordered it now though

Got my 4 operator today.  I threw my 700 and a couple other things in for a little weight and took a quick 3 mile walk with it, very very comfortable, once I get it fully loaded and use it enough to get a better feel for it I will give a more detailed review with pictures.

Tag for upcoming possible review.
I got one in multicam, brand new with tags on the way I won from a reputable eBay member for $365 shipped.
