I have a 5" M&P 9mm Pro. I need a holster to attach to my war belt set up. Most of the reviews I have read suggest a holster that is not directly mounted to the molle section of the belt, and that makes sense for where I wear my belt. So I am looking for a holster that is dropped down a little. I do not want any type of extra retention like the Safariland. The ones I have seen are

Alot of the holsters not directly on the molle of your war belt is mainly to due guys running a plate carrier or chest rig that could potentially impede your pistol draw. If you're not running a plate carrier and you dont mind your holster riding a little higher, there's nothing wrong with mounting your holster to the molle war belt.
That said, I went with the RTI drop mount for my belt. http://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/Accessories/GCA30.html I had a custom holster made by Fury Carry Solutions with the RTI hanger. It also has the belt loops in case I wanted to run just the holster on a belt. http://www.furycarrysolutions.com/Tactical-Order.html |
