I've seen a lot of removable packs for pc's. I have an od pc and can't find a removable one. Is it possible/reasonable easy to just attach a small molle backpack? Thx

When I used a map pack I took field expedient SRBs and mounted the female to molle in the back of the carrier and the male ends to molle on the pack.

I was just experimenting with this today, as a matter of fact.
I picked up a set of T-straps from Redcat tactical on eBay. Basically a length of webbing with a SRB in the middle, and a reinforced "T" at each end. You feed the loose webbing through a free column of PALS. One side of the t-strap goes on the pack, one side on your plate carrier.

It works fairly well, able to attach/detatch a USGI assault pack reasonably quickly.
It's way less complicated than it sounds: I'll try to get some pics up.

Is this for combat use where you can have a buddy pull something off your back for you?

Maybe you can use the space for a water bladder.

I MUCH prefer packs and other back-mounted items which have their own shoulder straps.

I have the TT Operator pack and a Banshee PC.

I don't like the TT backpack, construction is good but there isn't a defined bladder pouch and its about 4" too long overall.  Raf has the right idea with a separate backpack as it doesn't make the PC ride up into your neck as bad either.

Check out our gRUNT backpack. It has MOLLE or shoulder straps. I'm wearing it here and I'm getting in and out of birds more than I want to.
My other thoughts would be the EAGLE Yote, First Spear ECP or something from Mystery Ranch with their BVS.

I have been wearing a pack with Armor since we started getting issued armor regularly and I haven't found the PERFECT system yet. Shoulder straps cut into you after a while, Fastex clips are annoying when you need to don the Pack quickly, MOLLE - well now you're stuck with that pack and your buddy has grab items from it.

EDIT - my gRUNT is attached with our LIK, but modified to be male to female instead of female to male.

The Mystery Cinch, or other things like it can alleviate that somewhat.

The Cinch does help. I still haven't found the silver bullet though. I'm working on something though.

I've never been comfortable with a pack attached to my armor, just my opinion.  Even though it's less comfortable to have a real pack, it's something I can don and doff quicker from what I've done than attached packs.

A lot of the time I've used a large over the shoulder slung Maxpedition bag for short term walking around goodies or an old satchel charge bag for even shorter term.

I had an aid bag (TSSI M9) that I attached with clips. I could don and doff it rather quickly, and it was far more comfortable than with shoulder straps.

I could probably have put it on with the two top clips faster than putting shoulder straps on when wearing armor. It would have been close.
