thanks, i'm looking for a military style. i thought that the otb were not made in usa. Materials are imported but they are sewn and assembled here by Americans I also recommend OTB but i say the bushmaters, if you blouse your pants you wont find boots with better coolig than the bushmasters. They have a bunch of mesh that lets in air flow and theyre tough as nails |

Altama
http://www.lapolicegear.com/altama-leather-combat-boot.html These are basically waterproof. The vulcanized sole meens the leather is molded into the sole rubber, not stitched. Treat with mink oil, they are great in water. Mud cleans out of the big lugs easy. I wet molded mine (soaked in water for break in) they fit my ankle super and fit like wrestling boots or something, I feel like they have super ankle suport. I just got my second pair for Christmas. and corcoran here. http://www.lapolicegear.com/come10lefibo.html This is basically a jump boot, but with tread. It is not waterproof, because the stitching is big enough that even with mink oil it leaked when I steped in a deep puddle, now that I've been wearing then a while and treated them several times I don't notice getting wet. My only complaint is that the heal inside is sorta cup shaped and my aftermarket insoles tend to start to walk up the side instead of staying flat on the bottom. Being a derivitive of a jump boot these should have good ankle support, in fact after I broke my ankle in a motorcycle wreck (while wearing slip ons) my doctor told me that at 18 weeks he'd normally reccomend an ankle brace, but these boots should be good enough. Whatever you get, tear out the insole (neither of these lasted the wet break-in anyways) and buy a real nice insole from Kiwi, Dr. scholls or ironman. Gel or whatever. |
