Stolen thread idea from LF.net.

Show your fighting loadout, and give some explanation on why it is the way it is. Little info but it doesn't have to be an essay.

This is for duty gear only.  Mil, LEO, contractor, security, etc. No class/personal preparedness gear. We can make a separate thread for that.

Again, please keep this exclusively for work/duty equipment.

Here's my rack. It's an old OD TT 2 piece MAV with center adapter. RG shingles, TT med pouch, ATS admin pouch...
I prefer the splint front when I need to use a rack per SOP, and I may need to throw it on quickly. I always hated stretching my arms back to clip a fastex. The non padded shoulder straps are nice when carrying an assault pack and I pretty much always have one.

I'll be going to the field next week and this thing is coming with me.

Assault pack is RAID II. So far I haven't used it in the field but it seems pretty bombproof and I like the overall design.

My ACU rack. TT MAV 2 piece, random pouches.

I don't have most of my stuff here (like armor, weapons, etc)
That crap will have to wait until at least next week.

This POG requests permission to pretend he may actually see a real gun and get to be a real Marine one day

ESPC w/ MTV c-bund, 550 cord(OD) for general use, BOK, 550(coyote) single point sling gets switched over to the right side when in use, gloves on a biner on the right side of  the c-bund, pretty basic set up.

This is kind of old, but it's what I did all my "fighting" in:

I was a medic, so my priority was that. With that in mind I tried to make the IOTV into something of a belly belt of goodies so my upper body was more clear to work.

From the picture's left to right (worn, it's right to left) I had

Medications pouch (made positive control of meds easier to have it always on my vest)
Care Under Fire pouch (extra CAT TKs, two izzies, pretty much)
Grenade pouch with SOF-T-T (I feel they're stronger, though slower, so that was was reserved for in case I needed to place a TK on a thigh)
Shears (I originally had a leash for it, but it never came close to coming out, so I took the leash off)
2x M4 mags
2x M4 mags
2x M4 mags
IFAK

As you can see the TSSI M9 aid bag was attached by clips I routed through the PALS webbing on the IOTV. It made donning and doffing very easy and quick, and didn't restrict my arms like shoulder straps do, but it would bounce like a mother when I was running hard, because it was only attached by the top. It's stupid and homemade, but it worked, so I was fine with it.

The CamelBak tube is for appearances only, because I hate them, no one ever checked if mine was full, and I drank lots of bottles of water.

Assault bag usually stayed in the truck, or in the patrol base if we weren't going far. It came with me if we were dismounted for a while, but that was pretty rare.

There's a number of things I would have liked to do better, namely having a PC instead of an IOTV, but that was out of my control at the time. It worked okay though.

Those knee pads, though they're huge-normous, actually stayed up on my knees instead of falling down to be shin guards, and they were decently comfortable.

I hate helmets, and the ACH is no exception.

I bounce from place to place and mission to mission, so mine changes a lot.

My rig with 4 mags up front, radio /commo and medical. All other stuff I won't need as quickly is on the sides and back. (The double mag pouch on the right side of the pic normally has my MBITR)

Yeah, I used the small nutsack sometimes. Can't remember the capacity - it's been a while. I don't like the big one because in prone it hits the ground and can cause malfunctions. I felt the drum was the most reliable and we had an ass-ton of SAW ammo that actually came in pre-loaded drums.

The 100 round sacs are the way to go. The links would always break in the 200 rounders and jam the weapon. The drums are always loud though as the rounds slide in them. I used to cut a slender piece of cardboard for live rounds (like MRE main meal box thickness) and a full thickness piece of cardboard to slide in the front of the drum to keep the rounds from sloshing during movement. I honestly think it helped the weapon cycle. Never had any real problems with the 100 rounders though.

Day to day rig:

Duty belt with (L-R):
2 pistol mags in open top pouch, Taser, Radio, Streamlight Strion LED, SL20 ring, ASP, Glock 23C with a TLR1 (hopefully a 22 soon as we transition), OC spray, 2 ASP hinged cuffs
I like to keep my back clear for comfort in the Tahoe and incase I land on my back nothing to hit my spine.

Active shooter rig:

Shellback Banshee: HSGI Bleeder stuffed with Israeli, H&H gauze, gloves and CAT on the outside, GI 3 mag shingle dyed black, TAG mag enhanced pistol mag pouch with Glock 22 mags

All together

plus the concealable soft armor and S&W .380 Bodyguard backup.

All together now

The Banshee leaves plenty of clearance for the duty belt and my draw is unhindered.

Rifle, not pictured , is the issued Larue with 2 mags in a Safariland coupler, TLR1 and Aimpoint.

Very cool. Unfortunately, it would be cost prohibitive for us. We have something like 350 city owned rifles and over 100 personally owned rifles out on the street in my PD. Buying Larue's would bust our budget. You're lucky to have an open minded administration.

How is the cumberbund? I hated the KDH plate carrier and instead bought a *ducks for cover* Condor multi cam carrier. It held the load of a SAW gunner extremely well all while being very comfortable and I didn't get holes rubbed into my hips anymore from my side plates. Despite daily dismounted patrols loaded down with SAW ammo and other crap, it didn't fall apart either, not even a little bit.

It was pretty legit. The downside is that the side plate pouches on the cummerbund wouldn't fit the 7x8 plates. The thing I liked about it was the fact that the tension the cummerbund kept on the side plates ensured I quite getting the skin rubbed off my hips. It was also nice to be able to attach pouches where I wanted them.

TXLEO, you can post your credentials by signing up for the secure LEO forum. Go to the General tab and then select the Brothers of the Shield forum. The directions are near the top of the list. The LEOs on the site staff will review your credentials and destroy the copy once they are satisfied. Then you get a little badge under your avatar and everyone knows your a cop.

BTW, nice looking rifle.

That's a protech armor carrier - has plates and IIIA soft armor.  It's set up slightly different now.  I'd rather be running separate soft armor with a plate carrier thrown over.
