The 100 round sacs are the way to go. The links would always break in the 200 rounders and jam the weapon. The drums are always loud though as the rounds slide in them. I used to cut a slender piece of cardboard for live rounds (like MRE main meal box thickness) and a full thickness piece of cardboard to slide in the front of the drum to keep the rounds from sloshing during movement. I honestly think it helped the weapon cycle. Never had any real problems with the 100 rounders though.

| Very cool. Unfortunately, it would be cost prohibitive for us. We have something like 350 city owned rifles and over 100 personally owned rifles out on the street in my PD. Buying Larue's would bust our budget. You're lucky to have an open minded administration. |

KDH plate carrier w/ Mayflower cummerbund. -HSGI smoke grenade pouch -TT utility pouch -ATS IFAK -TT 3 mag shingle -TT admin pouch -High ground MBITR pouch -TT Utility pouch How is the cumberbund? I hated the KDH plate carrier and instead bought a *ducks for cover* Condor multi cam carrier. It held the load of a SAW gunner extremely well all while being very comfortable and I didn't get holes rubbed into my hips anymore from my side plates. Despite daily dismounted patrols loaded down with SAW ammo and other crap, it didn't fall apart either, not even a little bit. |

Despite daily dismounted patrols loaded down with SAW ammo and other crap, it didn't fall apart either, not even a little bit. It was pretty legit. The downside is that the side plate pouches on the cummerbund wouldn't fit the 7x8 plates. The thing I liked about it was the fact that the tension the cummerbund kept on the side plates ensured I quite getting the skin rubbed off my hips. It was also nice to be able to attach pouches where I wanted them. |

Sounds like a good solution, was it personally purchased or unit bought? I purchased it myself from grey group. I would have preferred to just buy a different plate carrier like you did, but I'm pretty sure my CSM thought privately purchased kit impaired warfighting abilities.

Someone said they thought I was a "poser" and not a police officer and asked me to post my credentials. Not sure how to post my ID card with out positing too much personal info. But here is a pic of the issued Larue rifle taken from inside my patrol unit today when showing my niece the "blink lights" and the sirens. Not trying to be a know it all or anything, I have a lot to learn, but I assure you am would never "pose" or lie about my profession. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj71/bgirdler85/3b8ed0cc.jpg That's awesome.
