I can't wait.

I wonder how long it will be before their winter camo pattern is available?

Quite exciting. I like the current A-TACS, but I am also in the desert. I am sure the majority of the US will like the new pattern better.

Let's hope the roll out to manufacturers is smoother than for the original pattern.

It wont be.  I've already talked to another manufacturer and there were issues with the screen printing.  They do seem to be worked out now, but even for manufacturers the material will not be available for purchase until the countdown clock expires.  Then the material will be sold, shipped, and manufactures will still have to cut and sew the product.  So expect a delay until about December or so until we see many items in this pattern for sale.  That being said, Propper "might" have some early samples on hand and "might" have a few items available near the release.  Let's all hope for the best!

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I think this will work real good with a ranger green base carrier.

Intredasting.  You think they had any input/cooperation from Hyde Definition on that one?

Just glad they didn't go too dark.  That is the problem w/most woodland patterns in my opinion.

I'm suprised the pattern is so different from the original. I would have thought they would use the same pattern and change the colors around so it was more green. I'm not sure that I'm sold on the 'leaf + drop shadow' effect.

Original:

FG:

what I thought A-TACS FG should have looked like was going to be (same pattern, more green):

I've been waiting to check out the new FG for a while, but after seeing it, I still prefer Multicam. The FG is way too green, and it's bright green. Not "is that green or brown or grey or what?" I think it would work great in a jungle environment, but not so much as a one camo for all. And I know it isn't supposed to be either.

Ya, I'd like to see it in action as well. It looks a little light green for the dark NW woods. That being said it might have some great qualities else where.

conceptually the reworked pattern is sound, now whether the end product  works out will be another question.

Good stuff. I still like the original for our desert environment, but this could be great up North, where it is heavily green. I think what really stands out is the subtle shading and depth that they used in the design. I  just checked in with the online shop I buy from and they said they will have it as soon as possible.

What shop would that be? Amazon only had the original last I checked, and for Upstate NY it looks to be a great pattern....until the snow flies!

They don't have it but I picked up some of the original camo from Predatorbdu. They told me the propper uniforms should be in by spring and they would offer some nylon gear as soon as possible. I was checking on one of the packs that I have, but I like think the new camo may work better in some cases.

I'm not sure what I think of it. I live in the desert so I am partial to the original but I agree with the previous poster that I thought it would be a green version of the original. The new pattern has what appears to be leaves in it, which seems to violate the original description of how ATACS blends smaller shapes into larger ones.

There's a few more pics here...

Exactly.

They had a "launch" that just equals a few pictures.  A real launch would have had the pattern in the gear makers hands and product to the people.

This is just lame.

Pattern seems decent enough, but who knows since none of us have seen it in person.

Yeah, I really like it.  Should work well for the environment it is intended, heavily wooded and jungle areas.

I will reserve judgement until I see pics in the real world, and not just promo pics, but I must say it is a lot lighter and less variation in it than I was expecting.

I was hoping for a tan/kermit green/woodland bdu green mix in the original ATACs pattern, which would have been perfect in Illinois.  The initial pictures read too light and washed out- more or less like a water color version of ACU pattern, and just murky for lack of a better word.
