I can't be doing this right!  It's completely uncomfortable/un-natural with a rifle.  This is my first PC––prior to this it was flak jacket and LBV.

Specs...

SKDTac PIG PC
Eclipse Plates, Large x 2
Esstac M4 Double Wedge Pouch x 4

Ok, other than the thickness of mags around the midsection there, what is uncomfortable about it?  A pic of you wearing it and shouldering the rifle would help a lot here.  It could be adjustment, or weight distribution.  Who knows.

It's the mid section alright.  The PIG is really comfortable, I just can't rest the rifle against my body and the sling goes into my neck instead of around my should.

Padded Sling might help. If its your first time with plates and double stacking mags will put the rifle pretty far out in front of you. Adjust it until it feels best as well as the sling then you may have to suck it up..the most comfortable PC will still suck after a few hours of wear.

You know the cummberbund is upside down, right? Anyway, the double stacked mags like that does push everything pretty far out. I just run a 3-Mag Esstac w/ Kiwi on the PiG, and a BFG 10-Speed 3-Mag on front of it, to keep a slim profile even if I have more than 3 mags on the PC. Really need to see pics of you wearing it and the issue to figure out your problem.

The magazines are causing the balance to be wayyy off. If you're set on having your rig set up that way you can counter balance with a hydration carrier on the back.

Padded sling, or a some kind of sling keeper that keeps the sling in line with the shoulder strap.

Is my 3-point sling the issue?  Should I get a nice 2-point?

Cumberbund adjustment cords are supposed to be pointing down in back, per the instructions, so they can be adjusted.  So I'm pretty sure it's right side up, but I could be wrong.

So you go double-stack and don't have problems?

The grommets on the cumberbund should be to the bottom, not the top if you ever add side plates. That's the issue.

Yes, no problem double-stack, but realize it is because of the way I have my pouches setup. You have more space taken up by stacking the Esstac mag pouches on top of eachother, but my method uses a ten-speed which is flat as heck on the front of the carrier. I usually only run 3+1 on the PC, but can instantly expand to 6+1 with no issues. Additionally, you may being experiencing a problem simply from having four mags across, depending on your body size. I'm 6' 175lbs.

This is the overall shot of my PiG Setup, with Medium BAE IV SA.

These are closeups of the mag standoff. It's less b/c of the use of the BFG 10-Speed, which again I only run if I need to go more than 3+1.

Hope that helps convey my message. I also run with this setup for PT (minus magazines/pouches: to not scare the neighborhood, which they never are anyway when I run with this).

Mine is 25 pounds.

I'm okay with the weight, just not the awkwardness.

I see I should have consulted here before buying anything!  Huge mistake.

Alright, so I'm going to fix the cumberbund and play around with the pouches a little––maybe put one on the cumberbund.  I'm also going to get rid of the three-point sling.

Where did you get your badge/patch?  What kind of sling setup is that?

Part of the issue may be that you have plates that are too big...
What is your weight/height/chest/waist?

Don't have a scale, but doing a few bicep curls I'd guess it's around 20-25lbs.

Patch is my id from deployment (1st Bn, 3rd Marines), sling is a Gear Sector vest-mounted single-point. Some like the single point on the side, others like the single point in the middle (like the PiG made sling other brands exist). I don't like the sling in the middle, affecting my admin pouch, but that is pure personal preference. 3-Point slings are garbage; definately go with either a 2-point or 1-point.

I would definitely move the two top ESSTAC shingles to the side. I run single stacked rifle mags on my chest, It just takes up too much room with double stacked mags up high like that.
You can easily run 8 mags on the PIG (I run anywhere from 4-8, depending on what I'm doing).
4 mags run across the split front, then one ESSTAC shingle on each side of the C-bun. You have all that free MOLLE real estate on the sides anyways. With any chest rig/ plate carrier balance is crucial.

PIG doesn't make a sling that put's anything in the middle... not sure which you thought did that?

For some reason I was thinking this was run that way, but I'm an idiot and was actually thinking about a different sling where it's channeled through both shoulder straps of the PC/Vest.

Funny cause I was like, "...but the PIG sling was designed SPECIFICALLY not to drop centerline..."
LOL

The PIG and the plates are great––it's my pouch/sling config that is jacked.

I am 175 / 5' 11" / 42" / 36"

I will be ordering some other stuff and re-config'ing.  I'll update with pics...

OK, sorry for not tracking on that.  You can also consider running 4 mags across the front with something like the Esstac Double Wedge so as to spread the load across further while retaining the ability to lift only one side of your cummerbund.  You can also use the KPMI (Kangaroo Pouch Mag Inserts) for low profile mag pouches to "plus-up" when necessary.   Finally, you can run one of your triple mag shingles from the centerline and run it out only your cummerbund on one side and get in and out of the other.  Just some food for thought!

ETA: I thought it would be fair to add that some folks purposely setup their rigs with double mag pouches across the front so they can rest their forearms and sometimes their rifles on the "ledge"...

Update...

I took off the second row of mags and switched to a 2-point sling.  1,000x better!  I moved one of the mag pouches to the left side and it works well.  The PIG is awesome!!!

I just bit off more than I could chew mag-wise.

I also noticed that my 6920 is a little front heavy which makes it uncomfortable.  Another build, which is lighter and more balanced, is much easier on the arms.

Thanks all for your advice and help!
