I am in need of a chest rig like this one: http://www.skdtac.com/Esstac_Chest_Rig_LBB_Load_Bearing_Boar_p/ess.520.htm
Primarily because its the only 5.56/MOLLE chest rig I can find with webbing on the back for my hydration carrier. BUT, I dont like the following: - Price - single back plate carrier (I dont need plate pouches since I have a dedicated plate carrier with my plates) - Split front - I dislike zippers on my hard-use gear - Integrated mag pouches - I am actually indifferent about this- it can have them or not I dont care either way I was wondering if anyone with knowledge on similar products could let me know? Thanks |
| Try the Tactical Assault Gear Marine Gladiator chest rig. The only thing you wouldn't like would be the integrated mag pouches, but they really do grow on you. About the only rig that really meets your criteria would be the TT MAV. Check out Grey Ghost for a good deal. |
| You might take a look at the BCM 03 MSF as well. Split front, but integrated hydro pouch. |

I don't know if you saw it in the SKD page, but the LBB comes with a hydro carrier included, not just an attachment point...all you do is add the bladder and you're set, as far as I can see.
Personally, I liked the 03/BCM well enough that I bought one for work (LE)....of course, my luck being what it is, I got laid off before I had a chance to really give it a proper testing. Only thing I don't like about it is how far apart the two front pieces are, even when buckled (I'd like the sides to be about .5" to 1" closer)...but that's relatively minor, and for the price (I was looking at the Esstac LBB in 6-mag and the Marine Gladiator as well), it seemed like a good deal. But like I said, I wasn't able to test it properly (i.e., extensive range use including various drills and tests), so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Good luck. |
