At first it looked like those were 10 speed mag pouches. These look pretty interesting. I like the 10 speeds, but after a year of use mine have very little retention left. |

I have ten speeds on the cummerbund and they’re great until they aren’t, just like you said |

Howsabout leftovers? See, my work changed my shift, location and days off, AND required me to come up with armor for the location, so my primary PC has been totally redone for that job, which also requires no ammunition. But I wanted to work with what I had left for a bare-bones "bump in the night" rig. The plate carrier was a gift from a fine member here. Thank you again! Stand-alone level 3 UHMWPE plates. Three P-Mags. One ersatz medical kit, has Quik Clot, gauze, triangle bandages, etc. One CAT. A REALLY cheap but wicked sharp freebie 5.11 knife that came with a pair of boots. I simply had no idea what to do with it, and it's been living in a desk drawer for years. Sharp eyes will not the shoulder pads are two different sizes - I have no idea where the matchings ones are hiding. Another sharp eye will note there is only one cheapo tube style quick release - I was gifted a set of two, but I put one here and one on the work armor. All I need is one side to open, as far as I know. Nothing matches color wise - not entering a fashion contest, I don't think And that's it. Not planning on leaving the house, so no hydration pouch - if I HAVE to leave, I have things I can grab quickly. I see a lot of things it appears people here desperately need, but I don't have and have no idea IF I need them. If I have time to put this on and grab the rest of the HD setup, well, it's a really bad day. That's it. Leftovers go to war. Total investment in this setup is probably less than 300$ Suggestions for changes/upgrades are always welcome, other than, "go be poor somewhere else".  Attached File |

Super comfortable and stable. I did cut off the flap to use a Haley rig as a placard or have it slick. |
Behold, my things: CPC with front flap removed and DOPE, AERO with DOPE, Sunsnow (high quality repro) AVS MBAV with Equinox cummerbund and SLEDS, AWS LAB belt with angled pistol kywi's, rifle kywi, repro BFG med pouch I also have a black belt for work, exactly like the pictured MC one (only difference is an LBX blowout pouch instead of the repro BFG (repro because I was unsure how much I would like the BFG style over the LBT/LBX, so I wanted to try a cheap one out before dropping $100 on a simple pouch. IFAK is empty because I just got it and haven't filled it yet...plus all med gear is currently in my work vehicle and in the LBX on my work belt). |

Attached File Did some upgrades to my carrier. It's been a while since I played with it at all, and I seem to be missing a rifle placard somewhere. I can't for the life of me figure out where it might have gone too. So I got some Jtac hooks and repurposed an old Mayflower I had from back in the days. It's nice because it holds 4 mags instead of 3, and has pockets in the front, for different stuff like my 3x micro magnifier if I'm not using it. I had to cut off the old qasm buckles from the Mayflower, as it made it sit funny. I also need to do something with the TQ holder on the right side, as it may interfere with my pistol draw. |

I'm pretty sure it was the first placard I got, and it's been so long I can't remember when I actually bought it. It does have the plastic mag clips that hold them in the pouch, I can't remember if it came with them or if I installed them myself. So, the magazine safety straps are redundant, but, I see that as a good thing. |

Spiritus and , I believe Peroz have kits. Ferro. Most will have at least the clips. I used to have one about 10 years ago that was 4 strips of hook and the clips. I cannot remember the name now. |

It’s nice to have water available at all times but you’re just shifting where the pain in the ass is vs a flask/bottle, if that makes sense. ETA I bought this placard because I really wanted flaps on the SLEDS, which weren’t available when I bought it several years ago. Naturally I sell my trusty placard and realize after the fact UG has made flaps

It’s user replaceable, but even so, it doesn’t look like something that’ll hold up substantial amounts of weight for very long. The price is definitely going to keep it far less popular than the 119. Problem is, I don’t see spiritus releasing a different version made of a less expensive material. |

I'm really glad I got a 119 before they discontinued it. Fits my use case, low vis but able to scale up, perfectly. |

Ordered a sleds placard after whacking myself in the jaw for the umpteenth time pulling pmags out of kywis. Those are going on chest rigs from now on. Figured I’d try the sleds since they sit a bit flatter, otherwise, it’s back to good old flaps, either the t-rex, or wtfidea’s single mag flap placard. |

It's an extremely good maritime fabric. Expensive though and frankly a poor choice for what they made their niche in. |

What kind of placard are you wanting to use? 3x 5.56 mags is my assumption, but one of the benefits IMO of Crye carriers is that you do not need those clips. I’ve always found it annoying how they push the mags out and are generally clunky. I would look at Crye, BFG, Onward Research, Unobtanium Gear for their AVS-specific placards. There may be other brands that I’m not aware of. |

Their flap design is pretty ingenious for how it attaches and adjusts, and you can turn a worn out sled into a respectable flap pouch. The k series really looks like a more modern take on the hsgi taco. Anyone here have any thoughts/experience on the R-series JPC? Didn’t even know it was a thing until I started looking though crye’s catalog on a whim when looking at their blast belt. Looks like their structural cummerbund could be modded into a QD with a couple side release buckles and a placard, same concept as wtfidea’s PC24 cummerbund. |
| I think I've narrowed it down to an Esstac Daeodon Uni or Defense Mechanisms MEPC for a new plate carrier. I'm mainly looking for something minimalistic that will have rifle mags and probably a dangler attached. Main concerns are easily shouldering a rifle without a bunch of material in the way and a quick detach cummerbund. This will mainly be used on the range and on the treadmill. Anyone have any experience with these? Also I'm your average 5'8" 190lb American for sizing purposes. |
Saw this earlier, figured you good folks might be interested. Perroz is putting out some more overt designs in the near future, along with an interesting structural cummerbund. Perroz Designs Innovative Plate Carrier is Amazing! After the snow a little while back, I had an opportunity to pick up an LV-120 for a bit less than MSRP. It pays having friends with more money than common sense.  Only complaints I’ve found are the cost, delam concerns, and the shoulder covers sliding around. If I don’t care for it, I’ll probably throw it on the EE. |

Got hands on the new hype beast from Spiritus. First time messing with a structured carrier, and it does what it claims, plates ride perfectly, I feel very little weight on my shoulders, and it feels incredibly solid. More on that in a minute. Before you even think about ordering, bear in mind that they are fucking tight on plate fitment. Old RMA 1092 gen 2 barely fit, it was a bear muscling them in, and keeping the bags entirely centered is a pain. I still fully sunk the flap in with no exposed velcro, so I’m thinking these bags are just meant to be really goddamn tight. The newer RMA stuff should be a bit better, they forego some padding and are about 1/4” to 3/8” thinner. If you’ve got ESAPIs and backers, well, thanks for your service, good luck, and I recommend lots of lube. If you’ve got chunky plates, don’t forget to attach your buckles/G-hooks/placard/whatever before wrestling them in, because they are just as hard to remove.  It’s a little annoying to assemble, but it is what it is. Straps actually get short enough for proper ride height, hallelujah. Lots of options for routing cables… Right up until you stuff plates in it. Yeah, this thing really wants thinner plates. As with all the laser cut stuff these days, everything is sharp. Shoulder straps need some sort of cover, and the stock trifolds do tend to slide around. Pads may or may not be necessary, just depends on how much crap you’re bolting onto this thing. Sub-20 pounds and you keep the cummerbund snug, it shouldn’t need any additional padding, aside from maybe an undershirt. Spiritus is supposed to release a structured set of low profile pads with a onewrap channel to interface with the straps. Eventually. Fuck it, more money to wtfidea for their loop adapter and a set of pads. Cummerbund doesn’t have any weird hot spots, and it sits high enough that a short sleeve shirt is enough to keep you from getting cut up, unlike a few elastic cummerbunds I’ve tried that had laser cut shit sewn on them. Surprisingly, the inside of your upper arm is a little more susceptible to getting cut up than you might think when you’re moving around and not thinking about it. So, on the “reactive” cummerbund. The… Curv? Whatever the fuck the plastic bits are, they come with pretty rough edges, rough enough that there’s a significant amount of friction against the plate bag or the webbing channels sewn to it, so it takes a bit of oomph to get the stretch this thing is supposed to have, and it likes to hang up after being stretched out. Should break in over time. Alternatively… Thirty seconds with something that has a hard edge will knock off enough flashing to smooth it out. Easy fix, can be done after assembly, even. No issues using tubes on a placard instead of the carrier itself, creates a bit more dead space for a radio wing. I am a little interested in the rear bag attachments spiritus has forthcoming, the radio pouch looked interesting, at least for those that don’t need to access their radio very often. Without any adjustment from standalone wear, the LV-120 goes on top of a DZ rig perfectly, I was a little surprised, but it sits exactly where I want it, with no weird hot spots, the straps don’t fall off of the yoke, and it leaves just enough space for the harness to completely cover my shoulder pocket, so it’s very consistent. ETA: If it’ll go over a well-padded yoke without any heartburn, and with some stretch left to spare, you can size this thing snug on a T-shirt, and it’ll still fit just fine over light or mid-weight layers. You’d want to re-size the legs of the cummerbund for heavy winter clothes, but you could throw it over a heavy coat in a pinch and re-size when you have the downtime. Without the LBE under it, it’s as good for keeping your shoulder clear as anything else I’ve tried, and the strap attachment doesn’t hang out far enough for the toe of my stock to catch on. (Big problem with the FCPC and Tomahawk LC. YMMV, this was done with a SLS and DT, something else might catch like the clap) Nothing really offensive that stands out, aside from price and availability. (Spiritus has time for their goofy velcro swag, but the only LV120’s in stock are black and coyote. Come on, man!) Will try to post a follow-up at some point. As long as it doesn’t fall apart within a year while mostly sitting in a closet, or have some other weird stupidity that comes up during field use, it seems alright. I looked up xpac delamination to get an idea of how long this stuff lasts, but all I was able to find were some reddit posts about some backpacks made from much lower denier xpac, and even then, those fedora enthusiasts were claiming a number of years of daily use before starting to see small bubbling. I’d expect X50 to last longer than that, especially since I’m not wearing it out and about every day. |

Though I’ve moved to only considering a 32 or 48 nalgene with one of the swig tubes on the side of a pack or panel if I want a drink tube, having one of those bladders bust on you fucking sucks. The flasks from qore are a half decent way to add a little water to a carrier, it’s better than nothing if you’ve got the space and weight budget. |
