So I havent seen any discussions on watches and I really need a good tactical watch.
I'm looking for something under $100, black metal face that's analog, cloth or metal band, and glow in the dark hands. Any suggestions? |

this is 113, its polymer but its made by luminox....luminox is the best IMHO of tactical watches. ETA: I just noticed the out of stock on that website i showed you. whoops. |
| g-shocks aren't bad but i don't want a rubber band. i'm looking for a cloth or metal I've been looking at this one but don't know about it's quality |

I have a Citizen that looks a lot like the one linked above. It was around $100 and does not need a battery. I will also bet it is better quality than the S&W one. That S&W watch is clearly going to be made in China. Pretty much like all of the other (non-gun) junk they they put their name on.. Sure, it may work perfectly for awhile, but you never know when it's going to just up and crap out on you.. ETA: Looking closer at that watch. It appears to have a Japanese quartz movement. I was guessing that it would be all Chinese. It might not be that bad of a watch for the money. |

I think this will work
Little more then I want to pay but i'm sure it'll pay for itself over time |

Seiko has several military-style watches under their "Seiko 5" brand that might be worth looking over. They typically run about $80 on Ebay. Seiko also has several 200M dive watches that would fit the bill... http://www.geekwatches.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/seiko-5-military-automatic-designer-watch1.jpg I found a tan one on amazon that i'll probably go with |

I am so freaking old school, I had one of the Timex 'campers' back in my youth that was wind up but an exact copy of the
Vietnam issue watch. My wife got me a new one in black for about $25 over two years ago for my job, still going strong on original battery. They till make them in OD as well. Amazon has the black for about $24 bucks and OD for $19. OD version at Amazon Black one at Amazon I am definitely LOW SPEED HIGH DRAG though. |

How's this for "tactical" ? The old expedition at work

One of those TIMEX camper watches lasted me through basic and a couple deployments just fine. I upgraded to a Casio G-Shock though because having an EL backlight at night is great. As suggested, if you don't like rubber wrist bands then you can do a NATO conversion.
Maratac has a G-Shock Band Adapter available at County Comm Then you can get any of these Maratac bands in 22 or 24mm width. There are a few analog G-shocks on Amazon on discount for around $65 which after the adapter and band you should be around $100. Casio G100-1BV You could go even cheaper if you go digital only. |

I buy a couple of the $7 analog watches at the PX / Shopette / Target / ect. As long as it ticks and has either a leather or cloth subdued band, it'll work. If it breaks, then I grab another one. They're cheaper to replace than to buy new batteries.
::shrug:: this is what works for me. I've heard some good things about the Suunto Core, too, and knew some guys who used 'em, but most of the features on that watch are included in other items too, and while redundancy is nice, I don't like a lot of crap on my wrists, so a simple, cheap wristwatch is the "tactical" solution de rigueur for me. Can't recommend a specific watch, because AAFES never has the same ones.

I have had the watch for 2 months and already on the second band. The band is made of a mix of cloth and rubber and just rubbing against my uniform and doing normal stuff the band slowly is ripping apart. So to answer your question about quality... look somewhere else. Decent price but didnt last long. |
