I know it sucks and you feel like they'll never get back to you, but sign up for the email alerts on their website. I did for some gear and they actually followed through and let me know when it was in stock. I already did that. I'm trying to figure out if there are other plates possibly 10x12 that will fit this carrier. Or if its a plate carrier that only allows custom made plates for it. |

He PIG will take pretty much any hard plate that has the top corners docked.
For soft armor the velocity PIG backers are cut for the pocket. If you want to use other plate backers, just run them directly behind the plate. SKD has a sub forum here, and most any question you have os prolly answered there. |

I just told you pretty much EVERY hard plate with docked corners will fit (this includes 10X12). Up to size XL. Google shooter cut plate, and it will fit.
Also in the SKD sub forum there are a ton of PIG PC pics that show what plates people are using. I have medium E-SAPI sized plates in mine. The soft plate backer pocket only really fits the velocity backers. You can put 10X12 backers in there but they move around a bit. |

Unfortunately we are waiting on our order for the PIG backers. They are more than likely not going to be in stock before the PIG sale ends though.
Almost any swimmer/ operator cut plates will fit in the PIG from an XS to an XL (the XL will hang our the bottom with just the velcro plate hanger covering it though.) SKD's Industry Page - tons of pics of the PIG PC, reviews, and user configurations. SOS |

Will the Velocity XL backers fit in the pocket designed for the actual PIG backers? I thought that maybe since they are XL they would fill the pocket.

Thanks, http://www.skdtac.com/Velocity_Systems_Soft_Armor_Plate_Backers_p/amr.100.htm The PIG soft armor pocket is actually 12x14 in, slightly larger than an XL measuring in at 11 x 14 in ...... Not a fair fight for a title match, I'll bet on the bigger guy..... finesse doesn't count when it comes to ballistic trauma. Let's get ready to RUUUUMBLE! Sorry got carried away there. If you get some standalone level IV ceramic plates, you won't need to run plate backers. That will save you money, and you won't have to wait for a restock. You can get the level IV plates from a number of places such as bulletproofme.com. Just make sure it says it is standalone and not ICW (in-conjunction with soft armor).
Bulletproofme.com has level IV vests in 10X12, 10X13, and 11X14. I would stick with 10X12s so that when you sit down the plate won't ride up towards your neck. But if you are very tall with a long torso, you may be better off with a longer one. |
