Looks like the photobucket pics expired. To the OP: I have a camelbak .mil version of the HAWG (roughly 1200 cu/in). It's a great pack and I love it. Sturdy no frills construction and design. I have the older 1000d model. The new ones are 500d (lighter but still strong) and have a new pocket worked into the main flap. Going up a size I have a Kelty Redwing 2900. Another great pack for anything from long day hikes to a 3 day/weekend type hike or camping trip. No busted zippers or seams yet. You might get better reccomendations if you tell us what size pack you are looking for and what type of role you want it to fill. Just saying that you want a backpck can be sorta vague and lead to suggestions of anything from a school backpack up to Large ALICE and everything in between. |

I have used Oakley bags before and they are pretty nice.
For the price I would suggest the KELTY MAP 3500. It is a sweet pack and can be had for about $100, so overall a better deal than the Oakley IMO. Also it looks more outdoors than mil. I have the ocean grey one. http://www.amronintl.com/products.cfm?pageID=5056 is the only place I know to get them. |

I have the Oakley panel pack and am pretty unimpressed. Several areas tore after little use. I keep it for light travelling now.
I have a Diamondback Tactical 3 Day Assault Pack for work use and it's of significantly greater quality. I'd stick with bags/packs from reputable tactical gear manufacturers. http://www.diamondbacktactical.com/catalog/3-Day-Assault,29.htm |
| well I've really been checking out the Camelback Motherlode now. I wanted to do a plate carrier vest, but it would be alittle on the expensive side, so i figured a good molle pack would suit for now since i could add mag pouches and such. that kelty pack looks pretty sweet to me except theres no molle webbing. Use for this will mainly be for all day hunting trips and then an emergency pack when its not hunting season. anyone have more suggestions? |

At $150 it might bust your budget but I would recommend the Maxpedition Vulture-II 3-Day backpack. I LOVE mine. Its plenty big and tough as nails.

Quoted: Spec ops THE Pack it's a great bag. I have an Oakley bag I use as a carry on and for school but in real war/survival I'd never really think it was an option and I'm an Oakley freak Yep, I've been using them for 5 years now. Very comfortable, roomy, and tough as nails. |
