| I am looking for a modular 3 mag chest rig that I can attach one of the camelbak bladders to the back. I prefer a padded H harness. I cant find any information on this, is it even possible? I don't have any armor, and dont plan on having a carrier any time soon, just want a low drag chest rig with hydro. |

Besides, I am just going to use it to hold my twinkies and beer while I watch Sponge Bob......on the couch. Then you need this.. CXS

run separate units This. I run a Camelbak Ambush over my Eagle/SKD Universal chest rig, no problem. Tomac I guess I will try something like this. What I was trying to do, was to balance the weight out. Basically, everytime I wear a Chest Rig, it is heavy on the front, and a camelbak is heavy in the back. I wanted to tie them together so they would offset each other and ride comfortably. |

WELCOME to the SUCK No matter how much you try, there is never a perfect balance... running separate affords you the ability to doff the pack to get to whatever in it or to refill w/o have to take EVERYTHING off would be one major reason, another would be a wider range of carriage options |
| I agree this is something you will just have to deal with but you should get should get someone else to help you adjust your back stale and waist belt. This will help you determine what and where needs to be fixed. The hydration system will only balance out your rig for a while. You're far more likely to run short on water than ammo unless your in a fight. Then in that case your predicament is reversed because you won't have time to drink. |

I ended up doing the same thing. My hydro pack was threaded through my chest rig for one hike and one hike only.
Having it as two pieces makes it easier to run light anyway. If you're just out on a day hike, you can leave the chest rig or plate carrier at home and just roll with mags on your belt. |

Yeah I did this for a while. It sucks in the end because refilling is no bueno. At least for me it wasn't. "Hey buddy, can you pull my bladder out? I need to... hey. hey! Where are you going?!" Lemme guess, you also ask people to check that your radio is on the right channel because you strapped it on your back. Edit spelling |

In the winter time I don't have to wear the bladder, I can take it off and attach it to my ruck. I don't have to disassemble things to put on a third line. Unless your doing nothing but getting in and out of an APC or Humvee I don't see any advantage to them being together. |
