Are they any good as far as quality? I was in there today, had what looked like good plate carriers, but wanted to know opinions

Their quality is excellent. The prices can be a bit high though.

Good to go. Have a few pieces of gear from them holds up great. If you get lucky you will find a killer deal. Lots of deals to be found around tidewater at the gun shows ect.

LBT was one of the first custom gear makers IIRC.

LBT is awesome.  Have one of their jumpable ranger 3 day packs
and have used it every day for the past 4 years, and it was used when
I bought it.  No fail in every aspect.  I emailed their CS dept last week
to buy an extra handle wrap in UCP for one of their loadout bags I
use and I received a FREE one from them just today.

They have been around for a while.  I got a holster from them in 1989.  The store front was nothing then, over near Lynnhaven where Grand Junqution is now.  They have moved to larger facilities twice since then.  They make the VBSS vests, which are outstanding kit.  They have been making purpose driven kit for a long time and it is bomb proof stuff.....Yes, it can be expensive, there are usually some good bargains in bins in their showroom...
LBT and Specter Gear are my two favorite brands of nylon.

I scored a London Bridge backpack in like-new condition from the local surplus store the other day for $75.

Not that anyone would care, but hot damn.... that's a $350 pack
