Does anyone have recommendations for good but reasonably priced and durable athletic boot socks? |

I have not found a reasonably priced, really good sock. I like Smartwool. You can catch them on sale for $10-15/pr. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Product.aspx?baseno=11650&cdf=TopSeller http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Product.aspx?baseno=11356&cdf=TopSeller This is about as Good a price on these as you're going to get. I'm just a civilian, but I wear the socks almost daily. They are outstanding, especially considering the quality you get for the price. They may be more expensive than those shitty cotton socks that walmart sells, but these socks are leagues better than them. |

I picked up a couple pairs of the Bass Pro Shop 'lifetime guaranty' merino wool socks (~+80% wool) that I liked so much I even bought another 3 prs.. they are $10/pr but if they wear out you can take them back (with your receipt) for a free replacement pair..
These socks (since they are higher wool percentage) are much warmer than any of the other 'wool blend' socks I have owned.. Brian |

With my .mil uniform I wear the 2-pack of Wigwam comfort hikers (merino wool ) from Dicks. I've worn out a few pairs over the past few years, but I wear these things daily and I tend to wear out the heels in my boots quicker than the socks.
Very comfortable socks, and if you have a Dick's nearby you can check them out in person. |

Quoted: Covert Threads "Sands" about $8.50/pr http://www.covertthreads.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000002/5157.jpg This. I bought like 6 pair when I went to Iraq. The most comfortable socks I've ever owned. |
| I just discovered Dahlgren Alpaca wool socks a few weeks ago, and now prefer them to all others. Their site is hard to navigate, but they're comfortable, don't smell, haven't rubbed me the wrong way, etc. Good stuff all around. |
