I saw the $25 Safariland 6004 holsters on sale at Botach. I took a chance and look what came in today. Brand new thigh rig for my M9A1 and light. I took care to ensure I ordered the right holster code by checking the Safariland website that lists all holster & gun combinations.
They have a discount code on top of the sale which basically paid for the sales tax.
Enjoy.

Schweet. So what's the additional promo code?

They had it on the site, it was good for 10% but I can't remember it right now.

Nice! Looks good.

I have a crimson trace set up on my issued M9 looks a bit different though. Switch runs along the bottom of the mag well instead of the backstrap.

How well does the M9A1 fit in holsters made for the M9? Will it "shove" in there or is it too thick with the dustcover rail?

Blind squirrel...

I run my M9A1 with a light, so I get holsters that fit that combo. Without the light, I guess it could fit some standard holsters, but it would be a case by case basis. I have had good luck with holsters marked for the Vertec (which has a built in light rail) or the 90-Two series (that also has a built in light rail).

I ordered 4, was charged for 4, and recieved a shipping notice for 4 but I also got a phone call stating I would only recieve 2. So I'm gonna see what shows up next week, the shipping weight from UPS is 10 lbs so that gives me some hope

That means you're getting two pounds of holsters and 8 pounds of disappointment.

I really have had good luck with Botach. However I wouldn't order like a donor kidney from them or anything.

can the hood be removed?im new to safariland holsters

There is a protective cover for the thumb release, can be removed. If you remove the hood, there is very little tension to hold the pistol secure.

So, yes, can be removed, but not good

Thanks. You just cost me about $80 - bought a holster and a new Suunto T1 watch.

Now we'll see if any of it actually arrives.

Mine shipped.. SLS hood can't be removed.. the guard can be though. I really like the ALS holsters.. but like I said.. this was cheap for a high quality holster.

Does Botach have an issue with delivery of goods?

The search feature here will come back with LOTS of Botach posts..............lots of bad mouthing. They dropped off of Arfcom for a while, then came back with a new (good) attitude, but I couldn't find them on the Industry section again.........
My experience has been o.k. with them over the years, but I am really specific on my orders to avoid confusion. I used to drive over to their shop and look at items before buying, but thats a pain in the behind.

edit to add a few linkls:

I liked the reply from Aimless:

I've ordered a few times from them.. only closeout stuff though. So far so good... I guess closeout stuff is in stock usually

My 6004 shows up the 8th.... going to probably slap an MLS mount on it and run the holster body on a UBL.

Got mine for my USP9SD w/UTL. Unfortunatedly this one is an older 6004 with the two hole (rather than 3 hole version). Wanted to convert it to a belt holster. Any ideas?

take the body off and snap a pic?
