I'm looking for opinions / reviews on level IIIa armor.

I'm wondering about PPI and Paraclete specifically; however, any experience with any brand is welcome.

Thanks!

I've used both at various times, and both were good to go, though I wasn't shot while wearing it.

I wear the PPI but in level II.  I was just emailing a local rep as I'm also wanting to go to the IIIA.  He said the GX IIIA is the top of the line right now.

If you are in the market for new Level IIIa armor, I would look for something that meets the new NIJ 06 standards.

I have BALCS cut armor from Velocity Systems for my Paraclete RBAV and it is very nice.  It isn't as thin as Dyneema, but lightweight and more flexible than some other types of armor.

Take a look at www.greygrouptraining.com and look in their soft armor section.   They have concealment cut and BALCS cut armor at good prices.
