I'm looking for a bag that could serve as a bug-out bag/day hike bag. That can easily be worn over an OTV(currently the Interceptor), and I could throw some snacks, extra magazines, smoke, NVGs, binoculars, or SAW drums into on a mission by mission basis. This I guess would be the primary purpose. I've got the assault pack(smallish backpack) that was issued with the rucksack, and while it serves well enough as a bug-out bag, I don't enjoy wearing it on those longer walks. And since I've yet to find a backpack style bag that I can wear comfortably over an OTV, I thinking something that can be slung across the shoulder and carried like a messenger bag/satchel might work a bit better. Perhaps it might have a quick release buckle to drop it since my armor is pretty well loaded up. Or webbing so that I can add additional pouches if I needed.
Right now I've got my eye on the SO Tech Mission Go Bag. I've also looked at Maxpedition. Always open to other products. Thanks |
| Bug Out Gear has an actualy "Bug Out Bag" in various sizes. I have two of the 3-day bags...one black that I bought in Korea, and one in ACU pattern that was issued to us last deployment. It is my go-to bag for carrying on the plane, traveling in the car, carrying stuff to and from work, etc, etc, etc. |

Compnor,
I love the SO Tech go bag. Its a great bag and easy to throw on in a hurry - like when you need to ditch a truck. Also my Kifaru Scout is awesome, but it costs a significant amount more than the go bag. It satisfies the "Day pack criteria" a little better. All is personal preference but either one will not disappoint. Good luck. SOS |

Know of one simuliar to that which has two straps so you can carry it on your back like a pack? |
| What I like about the Mission Go bag is that it has multiple carry options. From what I've seen, you can single it across one shoulder.....wear it as a belt, or attach it directly to your armor. You can buy shoulder straps separately to carry it like a back pack. |
