Thinking about going with the tactical tailor Hybrid Enhanced Here. Is this a one size fits all? Do not see a size option when trying to order. This will just be used for bringing gear out when walking about 1/2 mile out on my property to shoot, and also for SHTF. Maybe there are some other options out there i can look at? Not sure about the body armor laws here in my state, so not sure if down the road i will purchase any. Also what color do you guys think is best for a SHTF?
Edit: I am a stocky guy,6'0 205 lbs, maybe you guys can help me out on what size is best for me for other setups |

Why not just go for something intended for load bearing instead? That setup is primarily for armor and plates. Those setups generally perform poorly when armor is not used and flop around. Is there a specific reason you need a plate/armor carrier? They also tend to be hotter since they cover more of your body-again to accommodate armor. The HEV you have listed is not a one size fits all. TimW reports they run fairly large, as he sells them. Plate carriers usually are sized according to the plate size that they hold. What gear exactly are you needing to carry? Perhaps a warbelt or small chest rig and assault pack option would work better? Mission drives the gear, not the other way around as you have it.
I use an SO Tech Falcon for loadbearing. Others like the TT MAV's and similar chest rigs, surplus like the ALICE setups of USGI LBE and LBV, and commercial load bearing vests such as those from TT, Eagle, and Blackhawk perhaps are better options? They also are not going to cost as much as the armor carrier you have listed. Color? Depends what your area is like. Hard telling. I live in WI, and most of the time Coyote or Olive Drab or Forest/Ranger/Smoke green work well here. Multicam asa well. Avoid black or bright tan (Unless in actual terrain that's more light than dark.) and you should be good to go most anywhere's in the US. |

At the moment, TT only offers the HEV in L/XL. It might work with you. Here's a link to another thread in this section where I discuss the HEV and include some pics:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=10&t=291655 They should be coming out with smaller sizes in the next 2 months or so. As for the other vests listed, they're all fine load-bearing rigs, and I would agree with their use over an HEV or other armor carrier if you're not going to use armor in it. |
