I have a Serpa CQC holster that was on my chest as a cross draw, but the system takes up to much real-estate and isn't practical for a 1st, 2nd line
system. Any comments or personal experience with moving this holster from my chest to a molle leg panel? I am not sure of the flexibility of the attachment that connects the holster to the molle, also I figure a lanyard will be a necessity considering the open top (not sure of locking reliability on the serpa platform). Also I see a lot of people with the HSGI holster why do you guys like it so much? Am I better of starting over with a different holster altogether? thanks, John |

Minor hijack.. What kind of light holder are you using with this rig?

Minor hijack.. What kind of light holder are you using with this rig? That is a Safaliland RLS, mounting a Surefire G2LED. That has since changed. My M&P now sports a TLR-1, and the Surefire sits in a pouch on the belt. The RLS now holds a Streamlight LED flashlight. Can't remember the name, but the Streamlight is basically a TLR-1 bulb put into a copy of the Surefilre G2LED. Only 1.5 hours, but 130 lumen, just like the TLR-1. Complicated, I know. End of hijack? |

I have used the HSGI Drop holster on my last deployment, and it's good stuff. Held up very well and comfortable. This deployment I've been using an HSGI UMHP with a Safariland 6305 holster. Same results. |
| For a "hard" holster, I have had the best luck with the safariland type with the spring-loaded hood, using the type of hip/belt attacment that cops use. We call them cop holsters. They are fast, durable, secure, and protect the pistol well. They do not get in the way like drop legs do, and clear our body armor with no problem. |
