| I a looking for more comfortable straps and a waist pad for my ALICE pack. I know a company was mentioned somewhere here on AR15 |

Search the Surgival Gear and Tac Gear Fora for posts by Enforcer, the originator of the "Hellcat" mods to the ALICE. Basically it involves retrofitting MOLLE waistbelt, sleeping system carrier, and shoulderstraps to the ALICE with Frame. Vastly superior than stock, and not at all expensive, given the excellent final results. I've done two, a Med and Large ALICE, FWIW.
For Med ALICE without Frame, your only rear options are Tactical Tailor shoulder straps, or finding an upgraded, Woodland Camo pair of LC-2 GI sholder straps, which closely resemble the much more expensive TT unit. Beware of Mis-labeled, inferior LC-1 GI and foreign shoulder straps, which is probably what your pack has now. If you are dirt poor, you can get some auxiliary pads that attach to the LC-1 Shoulder straps, I think that Blackhawk makes them. |

I use the blackhawk improved shoulder and kidney strap on my winter rig... traditional ALICE frame. I tried to find the coleman frame that was supposed to be a good mod to try out but coudn't |

Or for the cheaper route, check out
Tactical Tailor malice packs, and the straps and belt they sell that work with standard issue Alice pack, I have both the TT and the mystery ranch...The mystery ranch N.I.C.E. frame is to die for...I got mine for $25.00 from my platoon sergeant, that's the only reason I have it, for the money the TT straps and belt rock..but if you got the cash..buy the mystery ranch.. thanks I have the LC2 straps and waist pad on 1 and the LC2 straps with an LC1 waist pad on the other will look for a new waist pad Go the MOLLE route. Believe me, it's MUCH superior to any any other upgrades, and MUCH cheaper. Like I said, I though so much of it I spent my own hard-earned cash and did 2 of 'em. Enforcer can give you places to buy the stuff you need. Won't cost you much. |
